Turbo Issue?

I have the ultimate racing kit with the gt3076r and wastegate recirculating.

When I tap the pedal too quickly/rapidly the turbo stutters briefly. Is this normal or abusive of me?

Primarily asking because some days when I shift aggressively it will stutter for a second or two before catching its breath and boosting away.

Could be heat (been 80-100+ already) ? Could it be something else?

I just regapped my plugs to kit recommended .22 (don't ask. don't care, that's where they are at) because I did a shit job the first time around. Haven't been able to drive it cause a flat and FedEx and tire place can't get tires to me on time. Hoping it was the plugs, but what else should I check or consider?

All adult responses appreciated.

Are you sure it's not just the turbo spooling up?

Isn't that what the purpose of BOV is for? To prevent turbo flutter.

Not sure how you mean. I can't miss it spooling. It's loud af when it spools. But if you mean is it trying to respool or something like that, idk.

I will get a video of it and upload to yt for you to see what I mean.

Pretty sure it's not spooling, unless hitting the gas too quickly messes up the spool briefly. Think quarter mile aggressiveness. Fast shifts and slamming the pedal. When doing that it doesn't always (or never) just keep going. It keep stuttering between shifting and slamming the gas. Not sure if it's just turbo/design or something I need to fix/check/adjust.

I am wondering if it is my BoV. It's pretty much brand new, but maybe it's not sensitive enough for my boost levels? I don't think it can be adjusted either.

Its the HKS SSQV bov. It makes the flutter sound a lot and scared me initially because I thought it was my turbo doing it, but it turns out its the BoV not having enough pressure to release with a sppshh or w/e, haha. If I get full boost and higher RPMs it vents as I expect, but otherwise it sounds like a rattlesnake/flutter.

Check to see if those can be opened up and you can change the spring to a lighter one.

Pretty much the first thing I did was look into how I can adjust the BoV, but the one I have is not adjustable. It's fixed from the manufacturer.

I was considering looking into a newer BoV, but would prefer to be sure the BoV is the issue before spending the money.

Ah, I see. Well hopefully someone more knowledgeable will chime in, good luck.

When I had my supra this is why I had two bovs - greddy type r (came with kit) and the hks ssq that you have. Needed the softer spring when not going too crazy.

Ya, I am wondering if that's the key.

After I regapped my plugs it only does it when shifting/wot very aggressively from 1st to 2nd. If I ease up on the as fast as possible shifts, there are no issues. I assume that's considered back pressure?

I adjusted some of my piping on the intake side, and tightened all the worm clamps and the "bogging" issue seems to be mostly gone. I am going to do the other side of the piping and re-seat the turbocharger just because, and see if that helps more.

Ok, so it is still doing it from time to time.

The other day I was in 2nd or 3rd then floored it from like 30-40 and it almost instantly cut power and it was gut wrenching reduction in power.

Here are logs from a few weeks ago. Same issue so the log should suffice.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Bump. Any ideas? I tightened all my turbo lines/pipes and it seemed to get a little better, but it didn't fix the issue. Now it doesn't happen 100% of the time when shifting from 1st to 2nd, but it still occurs.
I'm tempted to reseat my turbo but not sure I want to tackle that pain the ass when it may not matter.

Any help is appreciated!

Get a video in the car with you saying exactly when you hit the gas.
