@CSG Mike please add me to the official owners list. . 600 more miles until I reach official 1k mile break in. The kit was installed with 133 miles and was the other BRZ used for 2015 calibration.

Looks great! I like the subtle look with the red stripes removed from the manifold.

Liking that all black too, I wonder if that's an available option...

I agree with notdojdm, that's look so great !

Those red stripes, are there just stickers ?

I think i will all black mine too ! And maybe make a custom sticker with
" Toyota
Subaru
D4-S" =P

For people that don't really know what's look a 86 engine bay they can just think it's stock like that !

What is the break in period ?

There are currently 3 stealth versions out there from what I was told. One from Edelbrock, the other from illmatic's which was a test car and the 3rd is mine, also a test car which they still have with them. The one I previously had was preproduction version. There might be another out there. Not sure if they will release it as all black. I'd like to think ours are little bit more special but it doesn't seem that hard to just paint the red out. Lol

This kit looks so clean and factory, Subaru should really 1 up Toyota and re-release the STI BRZ with this preinstalled. I'm sure Subaru has enough profits to make this doable for $33k.

I mean don't get me wrong its not an awesome HP numbers; but it's damn high enough to make the car not feel like a fat big pushing a pine cone out of its ___ hole.

+1 Edelbrock

Just to document it in the event someone else has the issue....

My belt jumped 2 ribs today after a hard launch. I loosened the belt, checked all the pulleys and nothing seemed amiss. Realigned, and have yet to drive it anymore to see if it happens again.

On a side note, KUDOS to Edelbrock for making this kit easy to work on. Any sort of belt work on the KW is hell compared to this one. I really appreciate the use of an OEM tensioner setup.

Interesting, but not entirely uncommon. Have you contacted Edelbrock about it? I wonder if the stock belt tensioner has any sort of andjustment (my google-fu is failing me right now...)

No, haven't made any contact to Edelbrock. I just realigned it this morning when I got into work. I'll keep an eye on it over the next few days to see if it happens again.

Stock tensioner doesn't have any adjustment that I've seen, but if it happens again, I will be replacing that first. I am a higher mileage car (nearing 70k) so I will likely have some issues from worn out parts before most do. I don't necessarily think it is related to the kit, just putting it out there to track in the event someone else notices it as well.

The JRSC also uses the OEM tensioner; you can just push the tensioner down with a 14mm, and have the belt disengaged in under a second, same as the Edelbrock.

Now the KW... good luck.

Ah ok, I did a belt job for a KW and it absolutely sucks. I'll fix that in the op.

I keep reading threads with negative reviews/comments toward KW and HKS. Although FI is still far out, the JSRC and Edelbrock remain at the top of my list. FI is too big of a mod to be dealing with BS.

Pulled this from the article.

The Canadian tune produced substantially less than the final U.S. tune. “It’s all about the detonation threshold,” says Bob W. “With inferior octane you can go into the ignition tables and take timing out until the engine does not show detonation but there is a compromise at work here. Pulling timing produces higher EGT temperatures, thereby producing more heat. More heat means more headaches.”

Can anyone expand on this? What gains could be seen with Canadian 91 or 94 octane?
Reading just the quote you posted sounds correct. We have seen Canadian 91 octane is pretty much the same as California/Nevada/Arizona 91 octane. Basically it is pretty crappy and it is our basis for tuning most cars. The only fuel we have found to be worse is South Africa.

Cheers,
William Knose
