Help installing wing?

I have the CFW CF wing that I need to install but I'm afraid to drill more holes than there already is (from OEM limited BRZ spoiler). Does anyone have experience with measuring and drilling holes for a wing? Here are some pics of the wing on my car!

Sorry pics sideways. I don't know why they were uploaded that way.

If you have a friend do it and things get fucked up, you're out a trunk, a wing, and a friend. If you have a body shop do it and things get fucked up, it's on them to fix it. More than likely they'll do it right the first time and in less time than it would take you to do it.

I always assumed these trunk lip spoilers are held together by 3M VHB double sided tape - Like the 4905 or something better.

I have a similar spoiler and it had 4 mounting points. I only used the two closer to the middle of the trunk. I just measured it out and did some eyeballing. You can build a cardboard template too to help you see where to drill. I live in Arizona, so I don't trust tape. I could just see it flying off on the freeway.

Nice wing!

But trying to look at the pics almost killed me haha.

A body shop can't charge you that much for drilling some holes right? I mean geez your not telling them to put it on. Have you tried calling around?

Don't drill more holes.

Just use double sided tape after prepping the surface really good.

If you lived closer to me I'd be willing to help out. I have done A LOT of finish work on high end homes using some exotic materials and woods. I have so many drill bits it is almost stupid but they all serve a purpose.

It would probably be cheaper to go to a body shop and they will guarantee the work which makes the price worth it. Very nice looking wing.

This.

I HATE dealers. But when I got my car my dealer (200 miles away) went the extra mile for me. So I drove back there for my OEM limited spoiler install (I bought a premium BRZ). Not because I knew they would do it right, but because I knew if they fucked it up they would make it right.

Unless you have all the right tools and an OEM template, I would recommend paying to have it installed by a "pro". But if you are OK with fixing your mistakes, by all means do it yourself.
