BRZ - Full Race EFR 7163 Turbo kit - Clean Install
BRZ. 6 Speed. EFR 7163 Turbo. Tuning.
We just finished a full write-up on a very nice BRZ turbo build that was completed at our shop recently. This was a very exciting project for the client with top-shelf parts, and we are happy that he is happy. Read on to see what parts we used, why we used them, and some small details that added up to a very clean install and overall result. Thanks for the writeup.
I Currently utilize the BW 6758 and i am interested in how the car feels with the larger turbocharger installed. when does the car generate boost? i think it is around 2000-2500 rpm on my motor. does the cars owner have any plans to push the boost up past 20psi? i am interested to see what a 71 series turbo can do with one of these motors. |

The boost control was a little wonky, because we had to run a softer wastegate to keep the boost threshold under 6 pounds for the fuel system. It spools up and was making 6 pounds around 3k rpm.
When we can run a stiffer WG, and get more aggressive with the boost control it should improve. Overall this turbo spools up quick though! The next step for the owner is bigger injectors, fuel return, and turning up the boost with real boost control. Goal is to stay around 350hp, then build the motor in the future. |

350-ish hp is about the area where we have seen issues without a fuel return.

That's asking for drivability issues imo.

Not you, I was referencing a car with a return system that doesn't need it.

*Also, we should clarify, it is pressure dependent, so around 12-15psi is where you will see the issue, and on most kits we have tuned that's around 350hp. The install took about 3-4 days to get finished, tuning is about days worth of work to get it perfect. Last edited by Circuit Motorsports; 12-22-2017 at 04:54 PM. |

What's a setup like that cost?

Depends on the options and turbo you choose. The Full-Race kit is around $6k, then we can add things like the oil cooler, clutch, fueling upgrades, etc. If you're interested in a setup like this feel free to call or message us and we would be happy to assist! |
