How does it work that it's carb approved yet no eo number is assigned? Not being disrespectful, just curious for my own knowledge and understanding.

Is it along the lines of we've tested emissions in house according to carb compliancy and it passed, now we just need the state to run the same tests then get the eo number.

As soon as our BRZ is tested by CARB, we will obtain the number and distribute E.O. Numbers to existing customers.

Appreciate the quick response, I will look forward to getting the Edelbrock kit in the future once

Just wanted to throw a shoutout to @Moto-Phil for offering an excellent deal on the kit. Was almost about to bite on it but now it's available for someone else

I'm looking into this kit and was wondering the following things:

1] As i DD my car, would there be an issue with the stock kit if i were to take long drives (example TX to CO) or would i need different tunes and equipment to help with the long drive times and changes in elevation?

2] Is there a clearance issue with this kit and strut bars? Which bars work the best for fitment with this kit?

Thanks,

~ Zan

I don't think any have been confirmed to fit. My TRD Strut Bar (now sold) didn't fit and per the installation instructions even the underhood insulation / padding needs to be removed:

Even for stock strut bar installations?

Not sure what you mean... stock strut bar as in the V-brace that bolts from the strut towers to the firewall? Those fit as you should be able to find in pics.

Ooo, missed that part. Thought it was an 'if interference remove insulation' not a definitive.

Does anyone know if that means vented hoods are a no-go as the vents dip into the engine bay?

My Seibon VS-style hood works with the E-Force.

1) While at the tour, I recall one of the engineers mention that they have done high elevation testing on the CARB tune during development. Not sure if its CO high-elevation, but I at least know they did something. I've done a couple of drives to SoCal (~400-500 mi) and to Tahoe (~6.5k ft) a few times with this car with no issues. If you are going with the CARB tune, keep in mind that its probably optimized for 91, so you can probably get a custom tune for 93 and get a little bit more out of it.

2) As others have mentioned, so far no, there aren't any verified ones that fit.

1. No issues if using their provided tune, or you have a good aftermarket tune.

2. Most strut bars will not fit. I've not yet received verification that any do without modification.

Let us know when you're ready for a kit.
