I don't ask for much

I just bought a BRZ limited, coming from a 2005 TSX. I've tried every audio adjustment I can thing of, but the speakers in this car just sound terrible to me. The low end sound is definitely lacking, but the adjustment with the stock head unit just doesn't cut it. What can I do to improve this?

Drive a WRX for a week and then you'll be overly satisfied with the BRZ sound system.

Well, that's all a matter of buget. If you're on one then cfusionpm setup isn't a bad option. From there the skys the limit.

Are you simply wanting to tweek the factory system, or are you considering replacing parts?

Strange, I actually think they sound pretty damn good for this price point of car. Took a bit of tweaking, but I have no complaints and I've owned many higher end cars compared to this.

OEM Audio Plus. Plug and play solution that sounds incredible. Can't go wrong with it.

They'll have an upgrade available soon to replace the front and rear speakers.

What xjohnx said. If you're not looking to piece together your own custom system, which based on the tone of your post you're not, the OEM Audio Plus system seems to be a good route for you. I've not heard anyone complain about it not living up to expectations.

I just use my cell phone and earbuds. The streaming bluetooth to the headunit sounds terrible

My previous car was an 05 TSX and now I also have a BRZ - nice!

The stock speakers are not as bad as people think. I wish I could just let people listen to my stock speakers on the amplifier I have. They sound surprisingly good (and I used to have Focals) - and the door speakers at the right crossover point also have some nice thump.

Personally, if you're budget conscious, I would simply add a 4 channel amplifier to the existing setup. Regardless of what you do moving forward, you're going to need a new amplifier anyway - it's a good place to start.

I'd like to replace the factory parts.

I would be happy with something like cfusionpm has setup, but with replacing the factory speakers as well. I'm not looking for audiophile quality, just a little more thump and clarity, without sacrificing much space. With my music tastes, I wouldn't need more than an 8" or 10" sub.

Any recommendations as far as factory replacement speakers go? I've looked on crutchfield, but I figured I'd get better opinions here.

Get the OEM Audio Plus system (https://www.facebook.com/oemaudioplus), worth every penny.

Very first thing i would do is deaden and seal the doors, makes a huge difference in the SQ of the stock speakers, go to the audio directory sticky and find the DIY its a great resource.

This will be your cheapest route.
