all motor any chance?

I just confirmed on the TIS that this engine does NOT use a hydraulic lash adjuster. It has a solid pivot with a shim to adjust for lash due to machining variance. So, for those of use most likely keeping the engine stock, that means valve jobs as the engine ages or it will tap tap tap. Be prepared to pull the engine to do that.

I do have a set of stock head sitting in the house. I would dissect them but the wife has my schedule already prepared for the evening.

The problem is the oil just can't handle it. Even the 9k element tuning redone engines where they supposedly fixed everything have short lives.

The engine is a massive compromise and so far no one has figured out how to get enough oil pressure into the engine to make it last any length of time for high rpm use.

I am sure you could do a dry sump setup if you were serious.

Would it really help though? I would figure that would have already have been tried, unless it is crazy expensive. Didn't element tuning swap out the FA20 in their own car?

I haven't ever had to do it to a car but i am told it is expensive and takes some knowhow to set up right.

Yes element tuning did a v8 swap.

Dry sump is possible but not with all your regular accessories
i.e. lose Air conditioning
I may be able to run it on my build only because I no longer have an intake manifold

Would love to get this car at around the specs of a Alfa Romeo 4C which is right around crank 240hp and 2500lbs. Without E85 close buy and without tearing the internals of the engine ill probably be closer to 230hp crank and 2600. Already knocked 100lbs off with room for another 100 lbs and still have AC and be live able on a daily basis. Its that extra 10-20hp and 100+ lbs that get costly and can turn the car into something you only want to drive on the weekends.
