The same contrast was seen even back in the hoary early days when the Best Motoring track video of the twins came out, there was a 40 page thread about it.
Strange, at launch I remember reading the opposite, granted I don't have a link to back that up, thought it was C&D but will post back.

My point was that both cars are identical except for shock/spring valving and rates. And the difference is subtle, but both over steer prone, BRZ less, because of shock/spring.

There are other factors too, if we are talking stock vs. stock. Things like alignments and tire pressures make a big difference on this car.

(Not arguing, just talking points)

Is it me or did the Stig look like he was having a hard time driving it? It didn't look like it was sharp and composed enough.

Nah, just looked like a loose RWD car in the wet.

There would have been much less oversteer on a completely dry track. A car with a tendency to oversteer in general + wet track + Prius tires = slidey ridiculousness. I wonder in those conditions if it wasn't just as fast as holding back and keeping the tail 100% under control.

Unlike most, I actually didn't like this review. It really fell short of some of the reviews they've done in the past. It was very straightforward and not as quirky as other reviews; however, I am glad that Top Gear loves the car, but it just did not show in this vid.

With standing water in many of the corners, I'd expect it to be classified as either "moist" or "wet", which translates to a time deduction or 3 or 4 seconds according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Top_Gea...ime_deductions.

It's hard to say since those approximations vary by type of car, but ~1:28 seems possible in the dry. And for drivers that race competitively, it's already been shown that a tire upgrade will make a significant difference (personally, I like the stock tires for street use, but on the track I'd probably get slicks or Super Sports).

Anyway, a great review of a great car.
I liked watching Randy Pobst driving this car on Drive's review. He seemed to get the car to squirm much more than the Top Gear driver did.
