I'm currently considering to get 18x9.0 with a 40 offset or 18x9.5 with a 43 offset. Both setups would be square and they would be wrapped around in 245/35 tires. I'm lowered on TRD springs. Would I have any issues with either setup? Thanks

Another question for the experts here - will I have issues with a wider tire like a 235 and would that be a poor choice for a 7.5'' wheel? I do autox some but no track and no plans for FI or a tremendous power upgrade other than maybe an OFT.

Thanks in advance
I think you have a good offset there with this wheel size. If you lower the car, this wheel will work well also.

For a 7.5" wide wheel, I would suggest going with a 225/45R17. You could also use a 235, but they will more expensive and only you will be able to tell the difference at quick glance.

If you do auto-x, you might consider an 8" wide wheel (around +35 offset) with a 245/40R17 tire if that keeps you within the rules.

This is pretty wide for a stock suspension setup. You will poke and also rub on the inside. The 10mm spacers will just give you more poke.

These would fit well if you were lowered and on coilovers:
  • extra tuck from the camber due to the lowering
  • additional inside clearance from the coilovers
Look through the wheel directory here:
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7535

and compare others running the same wheel or a different wheel with the same specs. You'll find that most people running 18x9.5 are running a +38 offset and probably everyone is running coilovers.

On a 8.5" wheel, you could fit a 255, but if you're stock you would be better with a 245/35R18 or a 235/40R18 (less common size). 225/40R18 will also fit but a bit of a stretch.

Thanks!!
+35 or +38 offset?
These should work with the ProKit, you shouldn't need the camber bolts but you'll gain a bit of camber with them which will help them tuck in a bit more (less poke).

With this staggered setup you may be okay.
You may find you need small spacers to clear inside once you lower (depending how much).

CHeck out the wheel directory here:
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7535
and compare the different setups on Raijins.

Here is someone running your combo but looks lowered.

Thanks! I was deciding on that but I think it might be a +38 offset

So the spacers won't make any difference? would going down to 245/35/18 make any difference with the rub? Sorry for all the questions..

These are way too wide for stock suspension.
Pretty much anything up front wider than 9" will rub on coils or stock suspension.
If you fit these, the wheels will contact the spring perch, plus the tires will rub on the outer fender lip.

To make these fit you need to go to coilovers. You will gain extra inside clearance from the smaller suspension components and then, will need extra camber to make sure the outside of the tire doesn't rub, probably somewhere around -2.5 to -3.0 all around.

Read this thread for more info:
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35463

Your options are:
  • get coilovers first and then run these wheels
  • go down to a 8.5 to 9" wheel max, especially on the front where the fitment is a problem. (8.5F/9.5R staggered should work nicely)

Not speaking as an authority, but yes it will work (based on my experience).

I installed a similar setup (exact wheels sizes) (tires: 245/35 & 265/35) about a week ago and on stock suspension I'm clear in the rear, and have roughly 5mm clearance in the front. After 150 + miles no rubbing even at full lock.

My RCE Yellow springs are scheduled to arrive tomorrow. According to RCE, the fitment should remain good. However, Myles says that installing crash bolts will reduce clearance further.

I'm planning on getting ag f440 in 19 x 8.5(front) and 9.5 (rear).
They're custom so I got to choose an offset!
Any recommendations?
I'm looking to flush to fender

Will this fit? (width, offset and tire size Qs)

I'm trying to buy wheels (looking at the works emotion or the rota torque, depends which one is easier to buy) on my country. but can't decide on the offset. What will be the best offset and tire for 17x9 square setup on stock (trd springs) without any poke. I want a flush or a bit inside the fenders setup. Thanks.

Can someone tell me which set up is more flush:
18x7.5 +38 front, 18x8.75 +33 rear like fellow member ericmpena or just 18x8.75 all round. And if 18x8.75 all around should I go for offset +33 or +35.

I'm running Eibach Pro Kit. Wheels I'm considering is the XXR 530.

Also what's the best tyre size, I currently have 225/40 front and 245/35 rear, can I reuse these tyres? Thanks!

wanted to get the rpf1 for tracking my car. i was thinking of getting a 17x9 and running either a 235/35 or 245/35 tire and plan on getting a BBK in the future. I currently have kw v3 coilovers and camber plates.
