Ok managed to get a second ABS module that I know came off a manual car, no change. At this point I have absolutely no idea what's causing this and why it popped up only after the ECU was reflashed. I've check the steering angle sensor and it seems fine, values seem to read fine. The ABS ECU is identified with the right calibration ID for a manual in Techstream. The tuner said he used the same base map as what was on the car before and just modified it.

So if anyone runs into this in the future, there seems to be a bug in the Ecutek Racerom v10 code that causes this. After a long series of troubleshooting steps, upgrading to Racerom v11 fixed the issue.

My ABS module have exactly same part number and exactly same software ID as ABS module in friends MANUAL GT86 so I still do not know how is this possible.

Having this issue as well, getting a code C1331, replaced wheel speed sensor no luck then replace a used brake actuator with the ecu. now added C1288.

Any updates?

How do I check my racerom Version?
Just got this error today when flashing my ECU.
Anyone have a fix?
Also getting
C1271
C1272
C1273
C1274
C1275
C1276
C1277
C1278

Yes I'm on a staggered setup. My ABS/traction control/speedometer (showing zero) and power steering would all show as lights on my dash would go away upon restarting. Vehicle ... recently though since I flashed my ECU it has a constant traction control/abs light on regardless of restart...

The C1288 has me concerned most since it's new and little to no info aside from this thread. Any fix?

Confirmed it was an issue with the tune. Tuner sent over an updated .bin. and it went away. Was not the tuners issue. Issue with ECUTEK. Confirmed and fixed.

I also had to back down to Racerom 9 features to fix the bugs. This fix needs more attention

Bump because I got this code along with C1201. Just happened to pop up after flashing my car with a base tune. I’m hoping that it’s an ecutek problem and that my tuner sends me an updated tune!

100% fix of your issue

7. STEERING ANGLE SENSOR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION
NOTICE:
When replacing the steering angle sensor with column assembly or ECU, Engine and ECT ECU (A/T),
Engine ECU (M/T) or when adjusting the front wheel alignment or steering wheel center point in accordance with the removing or installing or replacing the suspension, axle or steering parts, make
sure to perform steering angle sensor zero point calibration.
(a) Using SST, connect terminals Ts and CG of the DLC3.
SST 09843–18040
(b) Turn the ignition switch ON and keep the shift lever at P range.
(c) Make sure the steering off center angle is less than 3 when assembling the steering wheels (Smaller
value is desirable).
(d) Press the TRC OFF switch and hold it.
(e) Check that the following conditions are satisfied.
HINT:
Engine warning light comes on.
ABS warning light is blinking.
(f) Depress the brake pedal 3 times or more within 2 seconds.
(g) Check that the skid control buzzer sounds for 3 seconds.
HINT:
Press and hold the TRC OFF switch until the skid control buzzer sounds.
When it starts sounding, turn off the switch.
When the skid control buzzer starts sounding, turn off the TRC OFF switch.
If the skid control buzzer sounds, the sensor calibration is in normal completion.
If the skid control buzzer does not sound, perform the sensor calibration again.
If the skid control buzzer still will not sound, there is malfunction in the steering angle sensor, so check
the DTC.

Do this and I promise you it will be ok. FYI, the buzzing sound is something you CLEARLY hear and notice... don't be anxious about it.

Good luck!
