Only one seat warmer light is turning on?

Is this normal? It appears to still be warming up on my seat (to be honest I can’t really tell if it’s just my body warmth or the seat

Both seat heaters are fused independently. SEAT HTR LH and SEAT HTR RH.

It's OK to replace the fuse, but if it blows again you'll have to replace the heater as it's likely shorted, you wouldn't want to keep replacing fuses and using the heater or worse, use a higher amp fuse and burning a hole in the seat.

Oh ok. So the fact that the light isn’t coming on is meaning the fuse has blown? Is it recommended I take the car back to Toyota? I bought the car from a Toyota dealer ship pre owned about a week ago

The way the circuit is designed, you could have a light on the switch but no heat if the power circuit and switch ground were OK but the heater element circuit was open, or no light and no heat, which would be a bad power circuit (this includes the fuse).

I don't know how used car warranties go in AUS, but if it's been a week, you probably have a recourse. don't mess with it and bring it to them. Replacing a seat heater yourself isn't necessarily hard, but it's a pain in the butt.

Australia is pretty big, so between the north and south there should be a good difference in temperatures. And while it's bisected by the tropic of capricorn, a quick glance through a google search tells me some regions can go down to the single digits celcius during winter, so while it's not dangerously cold (like where I'm from), seat heaters, in short bursts, are comfy in that range. Here people keep their seats on full burn from november to april.

My 86 doesn't have any

The butt heater switches are notorious for burning out. They short closed when they get hot and let go.

Could just be the little light inside the switch; this is what happened to mine.

The light inside the driver's-side switch no longer turns on, but the seat heater itself still works perfectly. I was told by my dealer that you cannot replace the light by itself; you have to replace the whole switch, and a switch was $50 plus tax, so I elected (for now) to just live without the light since the heat itself is still working.

I have this same issue. Heater still works, but the light is out.

Or maybe it's just the light.
