I'm adding a 10psi spring this week so while im doing that I'll check the valve seat. I'm convinced its a boost leak but we tested with smoke and the only leak was out of the intake. My brother and I are going to take a look at this week. Hopefully he can see what me and my tuner are missing.

Smoke only leaked out the intake? Did you not block off the intake side of the turbo? The throttle plate should be closed and run the leak tester through the intake side of the turbo, it shouldn’t leak anywhere, you can further conduct a leak test by turning the key to on position, the hit the gas pedal to open the throttle plate. That’s how I found my leak, injector in the intake manifold was missing the o ring. I use cut a hole in the finger of a latex glove, stuck the leak tester tip in it and taped it off, then stuck the glove over the intake side of the compressor housing. It shouldn’t leak at all, and if it is, there’s your leak. If you did do it correctly, then it has to be the valve seat in the waste gate. Basically a big hole in the manifold before the turbo, exhaust gases going through there instead of spoiling the turbo. I’m guessing you have recirculated wastegate, bc you would be able to notice it right away if you had open dump

I’m new to building cars but after talking to my brother, it’s because I’m 10:1 compression. More boost should get me where I want to be power wise.

You failed to mention that you had a built low compression engine.... that explains everything lol

Realistically how much horsepower should I expect with stock frontpipe/catback with 7 or 10psi spring on gt2860rs kit (pump gas 93oct or e85)?

JDL No-Cut Intercooler

Anyone have a good review of the no-cut intercooler offered by JDL? I am looking for any opinions on performance, fitment, regrets, or installation problems.

From the questions I've asked Jesse before. You gain a little bit of lag and with more parts, there potentially can be more issues along the line. He and a few others highly recommend grabbing an aftermarket bash bar.

Yup, for the price it goes for it is a good move. We have one coming for our build, this will also make it easier to mount up the oil cooler.

Question for those who have installed the kit: I currently have a 2.5" overpipe but may upgrade to a 3" in the future. If I get the 3" downpipe outlet flange, would something like this or this be able to adapt it to the overpipe?

Also, is there any general hardware or nonstandard tools you would recommend having on-hand before installing the kit?

I believe the flange size is the same for the 3” and 2.5”. The hole is just a different size. Shouldn’t have any problem bolting 2.5” to 3” or 3” to 2.5”

Adapters like that are not ideal and will allow leaks. If you have a 2.5" overpipe just leave it be and order your kit with the 2.5" downpipe exit flange. 2.5" exhaust will not become a restriction until you're making far beyond the power limits of a stock engine (500+)

You can complete the install with basic hand tools and metric sockets but a set of crows foot socket adapters will come in handy when getting to all six manifold nuts

I've read sources saying that a 3" is recommended for as low as 350 hp. Do you know where I can find these calculations for our platform?

Thanks - any spare hardware you'd recommend I have available? Nuts, bolts, washers, gaskets, etc?
