Thanks Foobar, thats the problem, I open it before guess I am always in a hurry didnt hold remote button llong enough.

There is also a place for your key on the bottom edge of the trunk I believe.

yep, my problem was something sliding in the trunk and hitting the button inside, thought I was crazy but could have sworn I did not see a keyhole anywhere on the trunk. They hid it very well...

I was like wtf. I was thinking it was like my is250 where there is a button in the glove box but when I went to go check there wasn't. Left me like 😵. Then I found this. 😂

This worked!

Thanks to all for posting!! One button push saved me a visit to the dealer.

Button definitely exists and works in a 2013 Scion FR-S.

If the trunk and the door don't work or work intermittently, it is the fob battery (consult manual for how to change). If trunk and dash button do not work, it is this button.

I was moving and must have accidentally hit the button. I had never used it so I forgot about it.
