FRS / BRZ Intake Manifold - Development Thread - FT-86SpeedFactory by Velox

We got a hot topic right here guys! Not many options out there for intake manifolds. This has been another item we have wanted to share and been keeping quiet for quite some time. Now that we got a prototype in the works it's time to share.

Just like the LCA we just posted about this was designed with OEM supplied 3D data and CFD optimized for flow. Velox has been doing some amazing engineering work on this and it will be a great piece when finished up.

Construction is mostly billet 6061-T6 aluminum with some Aluminum Tubing welded with 5356 Aluminum rod.

Fitment is darn close to OEM with some minor modifications to some brackets. There is a straight flow shot from the bell horns to the vale. The bell horns are adjustable giving the end user more options for tuning and making this a one stop manifold for Boosted and N/A applications. Every connection point is o-ringed so no messy sealant and easily serviceable if needed.

Time for some pics to do the talking. We'll keep updating as we go.

Not sure why they would. Air is deposited right in the middle of the bell horns. CFD data shows equal amounts hitting both.

Ok, just hard to tell since I cannot see how the air is split up inside. But good to know. Thanks. (I didn't mean lean, I meant leaner than the rears. Even if just by a tiny bit. Just curious was all.)

1/ Ffs! I thought I was over buying mods for my car. My wallet hates you and me both.
2/ Has there been a real test piece tested as yet or does it still only exist in CAD/CAM?
3/ How does one adjust the height of the bell horns?
4/ Could you please tell me what the function of the highlighted hose is?

Due to the design, their is a possibility that bank to bank variations can occur. That crossover evens the pressure and ensures both banks are receiving the same air pressure. This is more geared towards FI but it's better to plug a provision then try to add a port later. GT-Rs and Porsches do something similar to this.
