What happens when you go down to the coast with uniQ? Surely fueling / boost and timing needs to be adjusted?

Whats wrong with the launches? Remember its on street tyres. So you wouldn't benefit anything by doing burn outs.
Octane booster makes a massive difference with my car, but that might not be the same for all RGM conversions?

I've never adjusted anything at the coast. My car goes great there, so I'm not looking for anything more. But there could be more to be had?? I rarely go to the coast, so that doesn't matter to me.

Ignore what I said about launches - as I said, I know little about drag racing. Just seemed to be so much wheelspin and so little hookup. I'm probably spoilt because I've only run R-Compound tyres for the past 18 months, and I've never run street tyres with SC.

Yep, some very good systems out there but pointless if there is no, or crappy local support. I wonder if RGM will stick with Vortech or start looking at different ones?

Rommies, the difference in 1/4mile time between yours and Rob's car can be put down to the fact that they were running semi-slicks on the day they ran that time. It was at a TTCC event.

Also, when pulling up to the line, dont drive over the water coz you have street tyres. With my MR2, I was running 14.6 or so all night. Then i started bypassing the water and ran 14.4 (this is before my build and at 0.5bar boost). Still need to put a new time down.

well, the best is to try some octane booster and see what happens! but im just worried...we couldn't even get off the line properly on 95 fuel haha!
yep...I think its time to put on some 265/35/18 semi slicks on the back as well

yebo yes! looks like semi's does make a good difference when you warm them up properly like rgm did at the ttcc event!

yes we did try to go around the water. its been edited out of the video.

I don't think you need to go as big as 265/35.

I use 235/40-17 or 225/45-17 R-Comps.
I find my 225s a little bit lacking on track when it comes to putting down full power in 2nd coming out of a corner, but the 235s hook up well.

I suggest that before going to a wider tyre, try a stickier compound.

Rommies, I've done a lot of drag racing in front wheel drive cars, launch and keeping that power down is key when it comes to ¼ mile runs, tyre pressure, track temp outside temp all play a huge roll.

Front wheel drive and real wheel drive are very different on the strip.

Totally different yes! But its like the fwd cars (with the weight of the engine on the front wheels) has better launching than the 86...the rear is just to light...we will go next time with two packets cement in the boot hehehehe

Rommies are you turning the TC completely off? Holding down the TC button for 5 seconds until the TC and VSC lights stay on?
86 with no spare wheel should out launch most FWD. I find using launch control @5000 rpm, with SC absolutely potent.

tc completely turned off...otherwise we would not be able to spin like that hehe...

we will have to change rubber first like mentioned above....and then try the 5k rpm launch.

Have you been to tarlton s2s bud?
