After sitting in a new Mustang GT I cannot ever imagine myself owning one. The car is HUGE and the interior is a disaster.
On an unrelated note a dealership 180 miles away called me and told me they have a pre-owned BRZ Limited (dark gray) 6sp manual for sale. 3700 miles, has a few extras like front clear bra, etc. $27,995. Good deal? Seems very temping to me... PS: I also have a prospective buyer coming to look at the S2000 on Sunday. It's currently listed on craigslist for $22k

I personally love S2K's. If you do not need the back seats than an S2K is an amazing car.

I can see the appeal though. It was a lot of fun flooring it and it sounds great. Maybe when I get older and am looking for a fast GT-type car, I'll give it another shot.

Don't know the availability of BRZs in your area, but isn't that the price of a new Limited at MSRP? There are quite a few in the NYC area and they are selling at MSRP. Last edited by iLuveKetchup; 01-25-2013 at 01:54 PM. Reason: Wr0ng Graammarz |

Yeah I think in this case you'll be happy with either one.
To be honest, I'd likely buy the s2000 if they produced it still today. Such a remarkable car, with Honda's engine dominance. One main reason I didn't go with the s2000 is the fact that financing one (or any used car, if you need to) can be a little more difficult, plus as others have mentioned there are zero warranties, and you'll never know what the last guy did to the thing (I'm still pretty sure you could find one in good shape). So overall, its what you think that matters. Driving with the top down sure is fun, but so is driving with the surgical handling of the FR-S. |

When I was car shopping, I couldn't find an S2000 in my area without a story behind it. If the s2000 were sold today new, I would have scooped one up over the FRS. But the FR-S is the closest I'll get to owning a new S2000. While the MX5 is a very respectible and capable car in it's own right, it just doesn't quite do it for me. The sound of a high strung F22/F20 through a tunnel is eargasmic.

Could very well be .... I still think it's more of a "do I want a drop top or not?" at this point ...
Until the convertible FR-S releases (assuming those rumors are true). Could the precision be related to the unstable stock FR-S tires? The S2000 has some beefier treads from what I remember. |
