I was thinking that kit, but not replacing their rods, just running quite low boost through it.

Maybe an 80mm pulley, with good header, HFC front pipe and stock exhaust, aiming for 300whp on 93.

I think those non-forged rods should be ok with that. Harrop have this 2.1l kit in there car running 420whp.

For info, I ran the harrop with a full decat exhaust (ace anaconda large size, fujitsubo, hks catback); and with a 80 mm pulley I was churning out 270whp on AKI93 - however i think that 20whp could be taken from a better tune.

I just mounted the 75mm pulley with upgraded fuel pump and injectors - still on stock internals. Tune is being done these days, we'll see how much whp i can get from this.

Thanks for that info.

270whp does sound a little low for an 80mm pulley and full exhaust, but I bet it is still fun to drive.

Keep us posted how you go with the new tune and 75mm pulley.

Im curious to see it in person. I have a plan for rerouting the coolant lines. Wouldn't mind a ride too Never been in a boosted 86. Im hoping to pay off a few things and get my wife in a ride before I pull the trigger. Hopefully the kit is CARB approved by then or itll be either Edelbrock or Jackson Racing.

For those of you who may be interested, the STi flexible strut tower bar does fit! But only barely... I also installed it with some washers, just to be safe. Check it out.

How many people are daily driving with this supercharger?

If you are dailying, how many miles on the car since installing the supercharger?

My car will be a daily after I install the supercharger but I have about 90 mile each way commute.

So I'm curious if the car can take the drive with the supercharger added on.

I daily my car. Had 25000 at install a year ago and I’m at 33000 now. Zero problems. Exceptionally reliable.

Could you mark the bar and do some pulls from various RPM ranges? Curious to see how close the bar and supercharger may get. Unless it hits really violently I couldn't imagine is causing any significant damage, but it's always worth checking clearances through a full range of motion!

Love your car btw. You've made awesome component selections.

I regularly do freeway on ramp pulls and drive like a goon and I’ve been checking to see if there are any rubbing/clearance issues. No problems so far. I do suggest running with the washers as spacers tho since it’s really close. There’s a lot of adjusting you can do with the bar too, but you want the tension set just so per the STi instructions.

Thanks! It was my goal to build a car that improved on all of the deficiencies from the factory but retained as much OEM as possible. I think I’ve nailed it so far haha. Premium components like the Harrop SC are really the key. Can’t compromise on quality.

Fully agree. I built my Forester XT with the intent to build what Subaru would of done if they were building an OEM Forester STi S204 type of a build, and not limited by nanny states like california or bean counters. It's a really exciting package of parts to see in action together when every single component has been upgraded or replaced, and somehow it still drives like it could be a factory car. It used to drive flawlessly, but there is a point where it does get a little rough and a little uncomfortable. When I got the BRZ to daily I let myself do a few more things I wanted to do outside of the scope of an S204 style build and I'm glad I did.

I daily mine. 4 mile commute on country back roads. Some occasional track work too. Probably done around 8k miles supercharged in 1yr.

No significant issues.
