I'll be 40 when the car is paid off in a couple of years... growing up rebroadcasts of Buck Rodgers in the 25th Century and Knight Rider were my favorite TV series. I think mid 30's to 40's is a great age to buy this car... you have enough driving experience to know what you are looking for and to be content with the car as it is, though it does need a few small tweaks to bring out its best...

I'M 58 AND NEEDED A MID LIFE CRISIS FIX. MY COUSIN GOT A 25 YR OLD GIRL FRIEND AND SHES COST WAY MORE THAN MY CAR AND MY CAR FUN DOESNT FADE. LOve the car. If you want good fun, go south east of ellicotville NY into the mountains for a couple of days. super twistys. great thing about being old is the cops look and see I'm not a kid and leave me alone. one unexpected great thing about the car is it is so low my dates have a hard time being modest with skirts on.

Lassie, My Favorite Martian, The Ozzie and Harriet Show, Lawrence Welk, The Walt Disney Show, Rin, Tin, Tin And The Adventures of Superman. Hell, I even vaguely remember the Howdy Doody Show though I hated it!

I was freshly out of the military before Star Wars was released and driving a 1973 Firebird 455 Formula.

I watched the development of the FT86 from the start but then did not buy a twin because it was too close in character to the car in my avatar which I have $7K+ of mods in. I convinced my son to buy a Lightning Red FR-S so I could mod and live vicariously through him. Well, actually, he choose red. I wanted Hot Lava. Seeing as how he is the one making the payments I had to acquiesce.

Mods so far:
TRD catback
TRD drop in filter
RCE Yellows on stock struts

I have probably wasted a 1/4 million dollars on cars and mods in my lifetime. I am trying to teach him better.

For some reason, I don't think anyone here thinks of that as a bad thing

Maybe he just didn't want to necro a thread that is a year and half old already. Probably a lot of those that answered that poll have already moved on to another car. I know I have seen a lot go in the time I have been reading this forum.

I'm in Law Enforcement for a living and I gotta say being new here, there's too many goddamn "search police"
Off topic I know but it's way outta hand compared to other forums. 102 responses and it's inevitably/obligatorily mentioned on a topic everyone is clearly enjoying. I search everytime and this still pisses me off. They are not using any of YOUR bandwith so please STFU!

Go get yourself a doughnut officer and learn how to post as a adult there's no need for the vulgar language and the "STFU" remark. I guess your like most people one person face to face and on the internet your a person who likes to tell everyone how and what to post.

Newsflash your not a moderator so you can "STFU" ok.

I did post as an adult and didn't address you personally but now I will since you've asked for it...I must've touched a nerve considering all you had to do was let grown folks enjoy the thread. Instead you call YOURSELF a moderator and tell ppl to search on a thread that has a hundred favorable responses Lol. STFU is an acronym(not vulgar)that I'm sure YOU'VE heard before since you don't know WHAT to say outta your mouth at anytime apparently. The doughnut thing, LMFAO(another acronym Lol) dealt with that a million times out in the REAL world from ppl who DON'T hide behind computers dictating policy. So do me a favor and enjoy your evening as I have better things to do. I have work in the morning. Afterall, somebody's gotta eat these donuts. 😉

this car makes me wish I had bought the 240z when it came out. however I doubt the 240z handled like these cars. women laugh when I say its my mid life crisis car. I get more thumbs up from people in their 40-50s than from kids. saw a guy with a brz the other day who added a black vinyl roof covering to his. I laughed as we had those back in the carburator days and all they did was cause the car to rust.
please don't snipe and swear. its not needed brothers

Born in 71, and the BRZ brings me back to my teenage years when I drove around in a CRX Si.

Mods are shown on my garage listing to the left.

I gotta admit, I'm surprised by the large representation of older guys on this forum, but the fact that we like these cars doesn't surprise me at all. It has a classic elegance to it and I've actually gotten more compliments about the car from older guys than anyone.
