I just got my UEL headers in and let me warn you, UEL headers will COMPLETELY change the sound of your car. You will not pick this up in youtube videos. As of right now I like how they sound sub 3k rpm but I like how the stock headers sounded above 3k rpm, so one day I will probably get some EL headers

What's the rest of your exhaust setup?

I might have paid too much for some pipes, but they are pretty nice pipes. Strongly considering getting JDL EL headers in the distant future. I really like how my new headers sound at idle and at low rpm but I liked the stock headers at high rpm. I am torn.

I haven't been able to floor it because there was a cop at my favorite on ramp, but according to all accounts UEL headers + OFT tune = torque dip almost gone

Can confirm sound above and below 3K... I am just learning to accept the 60R doesn’t play nice with a catless UEL.

i’m looking for a lower deep sound.

is that what yours is kind of like? i believe EL headers will make it sound higher pitched

It is deep, but it was deep with the stock headers too, and the sound is now of a completely different nature. If you can go to a meet and see if anyone was UEL headers whether it be on one of the twins or a WRX STI

I have the UEL JDL catless, stock front pipe, and then Invidia Q300. It is a very deep soundl, especially below 3K. At idle it is very quiet almost like stock from the outside, But from the inside its a little louder and very deep. The sound is great when you get on it. What I have found is that when the engine is under more load(up hill) it gets louder than the same speed and RPM going downhill. Many ups and downs on my 39 mile highway commute. I would prefer a little less drone, but I love it when driving enthusiastically.

how much drone is there?

i would imagine not much since you kept the stock front pipe?

That's an awesome setup for saving a few bucks, having a high quality header and a quiet overall setup.

That setup should have little to no drone from the stock front pipe, and Q300 which is a relatively quiet exhaust.

The JDL header is the best header for the money IMO. There are better options, but they aren't as cost effective.
