That's a porche ahahaha. We are talking a Subaru boxer here that's N/a. You do understand how much that GT3 engine cost right? I guess I should have been more specific.

You do know our Subaru boxer is "N/a" right. Our FA20 is a 2.0L with 4 cylinders and direct injection. It is not your standard Subaru EJ boxer engine. That 991 GT3 engine is most likely a 3.8L 6 cylinder with direct injection. It has more valvetrain parts and weight and can still rev to 9000 RPM. Your point about boxers not reving is invalid. I don't see how the price of an engine is valid in this conversation.

more boost and stock redline if you're at all MPG aware, pissing fuel is fast at higher revs is easy
not trying to win races so why beat up the motor at 8000k+? blast to factory redline faster, perfect, and if I take my time and can rev it lower overall with more HP and TQ, that will be as MPG gentle as it gets, and long life friendly not sold that subaru boxer valve train @9k revs = porsche's, that IS why one costs more |

I would just like to say that if I slap a turbo running ~10psi on to this car, I will be happy seeing even 22-24 mpg which would still be better than my '09 preza.

When I drive like I belong behind bars I'm getting 23-24mpg, but thats keeping her floored and driving maniacally...you have to WORK to get the MPG that low with my setup.
