Well put the same driver in a faster car and the faster car wins. But it’s not had to beat average drivers of very fast cars with our slow Twins if you know how to drive. Anyone who has been to track days or autox knows this well. Driver is by far is the most significant variable. |

I tend to agree that no matter what bandaids you throw on FWD it still doesn’t drive like a RWD car. I’m not saying FWD cars can’t be fun but to consider their driving dynamics to match RWD is just crazy. BTW I’ve driven a Focus ST. |

This guy was talking about stoplight to stoplight vs a somewhat significantly faster car that's automatic. Whatever, it's all bench racing.... I'm just saying...these things don't beat shit in a straight line. |

More power on a track can require better driving. Real easy to over brake and miss your mark when you're going faster.

Totally cool with playing on a track but the attitude of I cannot afford to lose to a Camry or some idiot in a faster car because I am the superior driver is a quick recipe to trouble.

yes but you can actually state your opinion with intelligence. There is a gigantic difference between what you said and what the buffoon said. I've driven neither, but when car journalists say a cheap car is almost as good as some of the most expensive vehicles ever created, I take notice and give them credence. The accolades given to the Fiesta St are stunning, especially considering its price and the innate bias auto journalists have towards BMW and Honda.

I was going to post some cute memey picture about how far off topic this has gone, but in searching for one I found this instead, which has about as much direct relevance to the OP as this thread now does. Particularly given that the OP has already made up his mind.
I may need to work on my Google searching. |

Sorry for changing the subject.. I see this where ever I look
I happen to have Advan RZ-DF But their PCD value is 5x112. BRZ is 5x100 I guess. There is no way that I could fit these on a BRZ isn't it? |

Wait...so you think in a stock 200ish hp car having a automatic is some kind of advantage ? I see what I’m dealing with now ha

2019 Fiesta ST or 2019 Subaru BRZ

Gotcha, I didn’t read all his posts. When people complain about FWD it’s typically with regards to handling so I sort of jumped to that conclusion. I have raced a Focus ST and off the line I smoked him (FWD/Driver disadvantage). The race was too short for him to catch back up but I’m sure it wouldn’t have taken long and I really couldn’t care less. Drag racing isn’t what I got this car for. |

If the car is inherently faster, the auto is just fine. Much more consistent and easier to launch. Less wear and tear on drive train as well
