CEL after removing cat?

Will I get a CEL after removing my catalytic converter and replacing with a test pipe? Would an o2 defouler or eliminator be needed?

You will not unless you change your header (also catted) to a non-catted. I can't see many if any aftermarket headers coming with a cat.

what i was thinking of doing was getting a catless header and putting a 02 delete on it like the one in the link below... any thoughts?

I've been banned from here for over a month but I still wanted to get back to you. I'm having a muffler shop do it for me.

If you remove the primary cat in the header, you will definitely get a CEL if you don't take steps to compensate. If you remove the secondary cat, there's nothing back there to take issue with that fact.

The part that I posted screws into the second o2 bung and the sensor screws into that piece... Once I get some cash up I will try it out and report back

This!

Some people have used washers to "fix" this issue. Search around the forum there's a lot on this. I have a catted header with no CEL issue.
