Advice Requested: Rebadged GT86 in the wrong location
Hi everybody, excuse me for posting a personal problem in the General Forum but I would prefer a larger audience for the answers I am seeking.
Today I rebadged the FR-S with Toyota emblems (front, rear, wheel caps, and even put clear sidemarkers) then I went ahead and debadged the FR-S emblem and directly replaced it with the GT86 emblem, at the same position and location. I was so excited to put everything on, that I had forgotten that the GT86 was placed more lower to the right, and to me, personally, I feel like I am an ignorant owner and am quite bothered by it. Here's mine: Here's where it normally goes: I'd like to hear what people have to say about my mistake...should I leave it or re-do it to get an OEM look (which really only FR-S owners would notice or major car enthusiasts). Thanks in advanced. |

Like it really matters, if you feel like you need it at the OEM position. Then i would suggest redoing it, but really no one really cares. Your probably the first person to do it their, i would leave it cause its not a big deal IMO.

Even though it looks fine, redo, I would get annoyed knowing its not in the right place. Btw looks great.

Leave it, its fine and "unique" in a good way. You can say no other 86 has it in the same location. And besides your still missing Toyota emblem that would be more obvious to enthusiasts than a few inches off mark.

I say no badge at all. But it doesn't look bad. If I was at a meet or saw your car in a parking lot I wouldn't be scratching my head thinking something was totally wrong. It's only off by 1/2" or so. No biggie.

Uh, if you had the same sized license plate as the "correct" picture, then MAYBE redo it.... But it looks like you're in good ol' amurica (/sarcasm) so you should really be fine (no sarcasm).

I think that with the US license plates the shape they are, that it looks better where you currently have it. If you had Euro plates, it would work better in the other location.
P.S. Wheres the Toyota one for the other side? Quote:

Leave it there, but make absolutely sure that if you put the Toyota badge on the opposite side, that it lines up in a straight line, otherwise it will look tacky as hell.

Redo it. You are going to be permanently bugged by it.

I'd redo it. It's going to eat at you until you do.
Also, get the Toyota badge.
