I just hope my insurance doesn't equate that the BRZ and FRS are the same car...

Everyone I've talked to that got quotes for both said the BRZ was higher than the FR-S.

Mainly because it costs more. Driving record aside I believe MSRP is the biggest determining factor for insurance premiums. Higher MSRP equals higher premiums.

I'm sure the number of BRZs that have been in accidents is roughly equal to the number of FRS', as reported on this forum, even before adjusting for the lower number of BRZs on the street.

I was quoted by engine size, seating capacity, since the car wasn't in their system yet. I'm not sure if they factored in buying price at all but it was only $6 more a year than my Kia Forte lol

with the amount of both on the road, but it sure seems like the FRS post have at least one of these a week. With about a 1:4/1:5 ratio of BRZ's to FRS on the road it seems really frequent to me that we keep seeing a damaged FRS on here! Either way it sucks seeing these cars like this...

There are 2.8 times as many FR-S's than BRZ's on American roads. Spoiler alert: We are going to see roughly 3 times as many wrecked FR-S's than BRZ's.

For the above reason, it would be ignorant to assume that since we see more FR-S wrecks it means FR-S drivers are less competent. Both cars have virtually the same customer; $25-30k sports cars tend to attract the same crowd.

To some of our BRZ brothers who like to pretend they sit on high-horses: I'm sorry, I must have missed the part where the Subaru badge became synonymous with maturity. There's a reason why WRX's have some of the highest insurance rates around...

Edit: I love my BRZ brethren, heck we have the same cars, and for most of us it came down to which model was more easily accessible to purchase. For me it was the FR-S, but I could have easily purchased a BRZ if my local dealer had them. But I have noticed a slight air of superiority from a small number of BRZers. I don't mean to sound like all BRZ owners are arrogant, they certainly aren't. Good day sirs.
