So. Damn. Smooth now. I like the concept of this short shifter, but I think the JDM or none would be best

Sounds like you got it dialed in. It's not rocket science but it takes some patience, doesn't it?

Contrary to you guys, my shift gate to 2nd gear widened after installing the bracket.

FYI, all the DIYs and videos I've seen posted say to adjust the reverse lockout with reference to the lever in 1st gear. That makes the gate slightly too wide because my lever would hiccup into a notch if I pulled any slight bit to the left instead of straight down in a 1-2 upshift. The service manual says to adjust the lockout with lever positioned in 2nd, not 1st. For the 0.8-1mm shim between the plate and lever I used a credit card before torquing down the plate down to 5.5 ft-lbs. 1-2 shift now feels perfectly precise.

Seeing as your guys' brackets caused your 1-2 gates to narrow and overlap into the lockout plate whereas my gate widened away from it says there's something way off with how the pieces fit between your kits and mine.

No No, don't you get it it doesn't work or installed right (i.e. TRD shifter) it's the part not the installer. While other have had success with the TRD those that haven't insist it's a flawed part it can't possibly be them.

I'm not pointing the finger at installation error in that post. We've already been over that. I even said parts aren't fitting same.

So I took a few video's of the Quickshifter in action. I haven't had any bolt loosening issues so I guess this is how it's supposed to function? You can see I shift hard to 2nd and 3rd and then some rev matching and normal shifting. The other video is with the car off and just cycling through the gears. It's notchy but not bad notchy but sportier I guess. Well iI hope this helps someone out to see how it it functions. The driving mode and knob is my 86 nanny rotary switch attempt. Looks bad and changing it to push button.:P . Any embed code for Vimeo?
