Nice!!! I hope I can find a nice 94/95 MR2 with low miles once I'm in the market. I had a 91 before so this makes me pretty envious. Congrats, keep her safe.

You watched the SW20 Regular Car Review, didn't you? I don't think I've seen him gush about a car like that before...

I will be going back to a MR2 T come spring. I had a 1991 Turbo and absolutely loved it! Wife had my daughter so I sold it and got a 2002 IS300. Out of all the 30+ cars I've owned, I missed the MR2 the most. Great pickup!

The mr2 is a keeper. Especially a clean one. Very hard to find these days. I approve of your mr2 simply because is has the 94+ JDM 3sgte gen3 revision.

The only thing I don't like are the black painted 93+ stock wheels. Other than that, you definitely found a clean sw20.

That car seems pretty good as is, the turbo motor is pulling its weight with the upgrades unlike a stock 3S-GTE. I would personally swap out the turbo as that powerband looks like no fun. I like the gray color quite a bit.

I almost went with an SW20 but I think the <1 ton curb weight on the ZZW won me over, despite the horrible convertible top, which I am constantly dreaming of ways to get rid of. I was also slightly worried about having a 20+ year old car with its 1980s technology.

Dave, how does the SW20 compare to the E36M? I was thinking between those and an SR20 240 as a next car.

I think the MR2 was just a little more "fun" but handling was unpredictable at the limit compared with the little Scion. Those are such fun little cars and yours looks fantastic with those modified air ducts. Congratulations!

Yeah, you have to be pretty quick to drive these things hard. I'm not comfortable with it yet and will do a few autocrosses with it to play around with it some. I likely won't track it simply because there's little reason for me to do so (and I'd have to buy stuff to prep it). I like the modified ducts, best thing about many body kits for these cars.. without the body kit

Ha, yeah. I have a lift for any work under it, and any engine work.. well I have a lift and I'll just drop the motor for anything serious. I'll be doing so shortly anyways and it'll get all new seals, gaskets, hoses, etc.

Yeah, RCR has some funny videos. They don't like my M3 as much

Not a fan of the black wheels either. I'm not planning on running the OEM 15s (simply due to lack of available good tires in proper sizes) anyways. If I were, I'd strip them again and refinish or just sell and buy some OEMs somewhere in good shape. I do need to work out a little AC stumble issue, although it only seems to be an issue when it's raining.. thinking a ground issue somewhere.

The HP band under boost is pretty flat, which I don't mind. It comes on strong but doesn't drop off too much. It would climb more with a real exhaust.. has an old HKS and OEM highly restrictive B pipe currently... You can def tell it's a 20 year old car, but that doesn't bother me. The lack of safety stuff sucks but it's still better than a 60s muscle car for safety

For a DD? E36M hands down. Weekend toy.. hmm.. I like both but the MR2 is a better toy car. The E36M is a great DD IMO due to torque, smooth powerband, good interior space, excellent outward visibility, large trunk, backseats, bigger and probably safer in a crash. Steering feel is better in the M3, but responsiveness/turn in/etc is much better with the MR2. Interior quality/features, M3 hands down (auto up/down windows all around on a coupe, heated seats with the common sport package, more headroom [an annoyance I have with the MR2], etc). Although my MR2 does use a lot less fluids than my M3.. gas, oil, diff fluid, etc...
