Its only logical that the car will become more "common" in terms (of a low volume 2 door RWD coupe) and then slowly level out over the next 2-3 years

Granted I would love of they limited the production run to <10,000 yearly... for the sake of exclusivity lol. Seeing the Twins turn into the next Stang or Camaro would be a utter heartbreak... or worse......... new rice icon for the auto world (when the band wagon fans spam buy them)

But this is coming from a person who's dad drives 1 of 3000 9-3 Viggens (give or take a few from people torque steering them into a tree).... so I've been spoiled with "what car is that" looks

On a different note I think its safe to say that the FR-S is a hit for Toyota. They have already sold more FR-S than all NA & TT MK4 Supras (roughly 14k) combine from 93-98.

Those cars were $40k-$55k twenty years ago, that's about $60k-$80k now with inflation, you'd be better off comparing them to Boxster and Cayman sales numbers than FRS.

Comparing to recent Miata sales is a better measure of success (similar market, performance, price bracket) which is staggeringly in Toyobaru's favor which I'll admit I never expected, will be interesting when the refresh comes out.

Doesn't Toyota have a thing for keeping sport cars for about ten years or so? Facelift/refresh after 4-5 years.

Yeah, sales are very strong. There also seems to be a good supply of the cars now. It used to be that I would not see a FR-S or BRZ on the dealer's lots for weeks or even months at a time. Now there are almost always 2 or 3 available. When driving I never saw them on the roads. Now, I see one and sometimes two almost everyday and they are usually not the same ones each time.

I am not surprised they are outselling the MX-5. It is at the end of its life cycle and the FR-S and BRZ are fresh and less of a niche vehicle because of their backseats and trunk room.

Holy moly look at the sales figures for the Mustangs and Camaros!!!

I get so sick and tired of seeing those dang cars on the road. They are awesome cars but I would not be able to stand owning one and seeing 30 other of the same damn thing driving around me every day.

Volkswagen Beetle is a sports/sporty car? Good to know. Must be the flower holder that makes it fast.

They sold 2 Honda S2000, interesting. Where's the SI? The twins are cheap and good looking, they will always find buyers.
