My set of tires has like 2 - 2.5 hours of track time on them. I have to replace one of the tires due to an accident. Will this have any ill effects? If it would make a difference is there anything I can do like shave 1mm of tread to fix it? I'm no pro so I'm probably overthinking it and won't make a difference for me.

can you extrapolate this a bit further

I'm trying to grasph how to read the gyro readings and apply them in self analysis.

I assume a lower number means faster rotation? I suppose this needs to be correlated with throttle and brake application to rule out oversteer?

in essense, what is the general idea to keep in mind when analysis the gyro reading?

I am still pretty new at the analysis myself so I don't know how much I can really tell you.

That said a higher number is a faster rotation over the measured time frame. If you take the area under the curve of the gyro reading, you get the amount of rotation (change in cars direction) that occurred. Like so many channels, you can only really tell what is going on by looking at other channels in conjunction with it and seeing what is happening to the car along with what the driver wants to achieve. For example, a rapid excursion of the gyro value could mean that the driver almost lost it, or they could be popping the car into a four wheel slide to get a thrust angle towards corner exit (ie. diamonding the corner).

How worn are the other three - can you measure the tread depth on them and compare those to the tread depth on a new tire? It's a total guess, but I'd estimate that if they're within 3/32nds or so that you should be fine.

AIM Solo DL is popular, and what we use in the BRZ.

Let us know if you want one; a lot of NorCal guys use it too.

AIM Solo DL is awesome. I tried a bunch of things with my phone and such, nothing really gave me the quality of data that I wanted until I got the Solo DL.

the DL is more than that, but mike can get you a good price,

its worth the money long term and you could use it across different platforms.

It looks like you stayed tight and your left wheels ran right over that nasty dip in the pavement at the very end of the white line...very easy to unsettle the car by running over it. I discovered the hole during my first time on track, first warm up lap, and stayed away from it since

no looks like, the dip is exactly what happened.

have done a handful of days there, ended up behind an ariel atom the previous lap through that section, took it tight like his line,

not to self: you are not driving an atom, nor are you on slicks
