the lakers are by no means a terrible team. their record reflects the ridiculous amount of injury they have sustained this year. if you have been watching the whole season, you get the occasional glimpse of what they can be right before another key player goes out for a dozen games or so.

you cant be serious. MANY teams deal with injury, some overcome them and some dont. look at the bulls: no rose, no noah and the still beat a streaking miami. the lakers are prototypical D'Antoni. great offense(6), terrible defense(26). at full health i expect the lakers to take the 8th seed to only go out in 5 in the first round, thats their best case scenerio.

no rose and no noah is a big deal and that team rose to the occasion. but the lakers have had big wins like that this season too. single games dont define a season. the lakers have had nash out with a broken leg and once and now with his hip, blake with abdominal surgery, kobe with his ankle, pau with his foot, dwight with his back and then with his shoulder, jordan hill with his hip, jamison with his wrist (although he kinda can play through that), and ron artest with his knee. those are all serious injuries and they have kept the team from finding any sort of chemistry at all. combine that with the three different coaching philosiphies they have and all the drama. dantoni never had three all team defensive players on his roster either. you can tell its communication and not talent or coaching that gives up he easy buckets. |

I can't believe none of us here have posted anything about the playoffs. I guess I'll start off.
And just cause I found this humorous.

i dont think its lebron who is going to win in a heat v okc. its gonna be if players like ibaka and perkins can put their stamp on the game. the only trick the heat have is to run lebron in the 4 and force people to play small and its been really effective in negating the fact that the heat have no inside presence.

Exactly. The Heat's interior d is their weakness.
But before we even talk about the Finals, can the Pacers, Knicks, Nets, or Celtics (if they can somehow make a comeback) able to address that attack? Hmmm. If the Bulls had D-Rose I would have chosen them first before any team to pull off beating the Heat, but that's not the case. So I believe at the moment the Pacers could pull off an upset if they meet the Heat in ECF. Brooklyn and Chicago are too streaky for my taste to do that in the second round, but if I had to choose one of them it be Brooklyn to give the Heat a fight. Then there are the Knicks... if they keep playing decent d and get STAT back then maybe they have a shot of dethroning the Heat as well. And my poor Celtics, not doing so well in the second half with the Knicks, its unlikely they'll reach the ECF this year. But here's to hoping the Celts make a comeback.
