BTW, OEM crash bolts are available from Toyota, part # SU003-02818, R93.90 for 2.
I picked up a set from NTT in Bton (which I don't need, but there's always folks asking about them, so they'll be a gift to the nuxt dude who asks)
Asking...will pay & courier......

Sure, but they're a gift.
Are you going to be at the Petrolheads for Pets event on 25 June?
If so, you can get them from me then.

Else PM me your address info, and I'll courier them.

Here's how to install them...

For the first time ever since my car was supercharged almost 3 years ago, I put it on a dyno today.

After 30 track days, I'm probably already living on borrowed time, so I wanted to get a baseline on a local dyno so I can keep track of the ponies as they escape over time
Should help me to make the decision when to rebuild...

I was thrilled that not many ponies have escaped so far, and that the power and torque curves look great.
It's still building power strongly at the redline with no taper off, so I'm a very happy chappie.

I want to do one more run in the near future with octane booster just to see whether there's any power difference.
I doubt if there will be, but it'll be nice to know.

Here's my graph.
Power line below, and torque line on top still showing some influence of my stock header.

I've intentionally removed the numbers, so don't ask about them.
No material here for tuner wars v17b or any of that b/s.
The graph is purely to demonstrate what I think is great power and torque curves.
If you want to know how much power my car makes, then come for a ride with me on a racetrack and let your butt dyno tell you

Maybe that's their cost price, being an internal warranty invoice?

Anyway, I got my car back an hour ago, and it feels great!!
Thanks AUTO UNLIMITED, you guys rock!!

A few clutch drops, some wheelspin, couple of WOTs to the red line, and nothing went bang.
I'm a happy camper.
I'm a little paranoid about this clutch issue,

So I went to Toyota and told them I can feel by clutch troubling a little and would like to change this bearing.

They told me they will do it, but under the extended warranty, they will only COVER it IF my clutch is damaged.

If the clutch or components are NOT damaged, then I am liable for all expenses (labour and parts).

I'm wondering if I should just change this bearing privately as a good maintenance measure ...just afraid of waiting for my clutch to fail, then having my car sitting at a Toyota dealer waiting 3 weeks for parts.

Any recommendations will be appreciated

How did the clutch feel when you drove it?

Well, our FT86 AFRICA forum just got some extra local flavour.

Ignore my post, which was about squeaking Vortech belts.

This weekend was a real feel good one, I'm sure everyone has heard about the bad weather we having in Durban and the snow in Drakensberg. However I was left with this picture after a trip to Nottingham Road on Sunday. Yes I took a 86 to see the snow!

Well, not really a "feel good" story...

I've been battling to find an irritating rattle in my car - unsuccessfully.
It's a ventriloquist rattle.
Sounds like it's in the back, then the front, then underneath, then in my head.... grrr!!
Not a train smash, but it's slowly been getting worse, so I have to find it.

And today I found it.
At least I thought I had - an intercooler pipe clunking against some other stuff.
Secured the pipe properly, added some insulation, and went for a test drive.
Still frustratingly exactly the same.

So here's the good news...
The test drive then degraded into something I never do on public roads, which is treat my car like a frustration release, but it was a lot of fun and I can assure you that when the blue smoke clouds the cabin so you can barely see where you going, a rattle becomes a lot less important.

Bottom line - despite the bloody rattle, I really, really enjoy my car.
Even after 3+ years I still feel like Amy MacDonald when I drive it - I just say "Och Nooooo".
If you haven't seen the clip, here it is -
