See below (tried to find a non-camera picture for consistency):

Toyota Canada has good angles!

GOOD

No still not "good".

After having it a few months, I far prefer my 860 to my '16 FR-S.

To chime in here about the MY17 looks, my first impression of it was "Yuck, I'll definitely be going for the 17 BRZ". But that was because I was looking at the line drawing similar to the blue one depicted in the earlier post. That is a terrible picture and angle, and I suspect because that was the first press release shot it soured many on this board. I assure you, in person it looks far better. I went to a car show to see them up close for the first time and had the opposite reaction I thought I would have. I thought the BRZ was not as good as I thought (too busy and angular) and the 86 was better than I thought. I liked the shapely curves and smoother lines. The angle most people see a car from, which is standing next to it and looking down, is way different than that line drawing, where you would have to be lying on your belly with your head tilted up to see it like that. And the drawing/animation for some reason just doesn't look good for this car. Give me a photo any day.

Beauty is subjective. For what it's worth, I never cared for the FRS bumper, and many here say it's way better. It's all good if it makes you happy. It just bugs me that many posters just love to rag on the 86 looks and treat it like it's a matter of fact when they probably haven't even seen one in person.

Don't worry, they all know the 86 is superior, they just can't admit it. Seeing an 86 in person is what also sold me on the look, I was dead set on a BRZ, signed the papers and everything, then test drove the 86, stared at it in a parking lot and was like... ye.... dis da one. True story.

I drove a new one on the Nurburgring (it was great). Still like the old bumper better though.

I actually prefer the looks of this:

To this:

But I got the tS because we don't get anything close to it in 86 form here, and I figure it would cost less to turn a tS into an 86 than do all the performance upgrades to an 86 GT-package if it really came down to it.
(Don't worry, I don't have any plans to do so.)

That white 86 looks amazing! Never seen a package quite like that.

There's no doubt the value of the BRZ performance pack and the goodies of the tS have it all over the bare bones 86. So if that is what you value then it's the right choice for you. I liked the simplicity in addition to the looks, so it works for me. Everybody goes home happy! Hooray for choices!

Sorry about going off topic there. Yes, I agree, the OP's work on his FRS-to-860 build is fantastic. The black on black with the stripes and badging look mean. All the little details really add up to one heck of a project. The 86 logo on the dash, steering wheel, and fenders are a nice touch. I bet most would never guess it started as an FRS. And you are going to love the new LED headlights. Those things put out some serious light! Any trouble with the new wing on the old trunk?
