Yea, every summer, you got to join in at age 9. We were poor, so backpacking was something my Dad could afford to do with his boys. Early on it would be me, my older brother , Dad and a couple cousins or so. One year my Uncle Frank flew his plane over real low while we were about 20 miles in at Wood Chuck lake and dropped a bunch of steaks, sodas, beer, real food, and other things you never have backpacking. It was really cool.

My Mom has been cleaning the attic and found a bunch of our old backpacking stuff. She asked me and my brothers if anyone wanted it. I told her to throw that stuff out. Nobody wants to use 1970s-80s gear!

I have. Wasn't camping though. Oh, and they had to wait until the mortar fire stopped to fly over.

Well, if what is causing the pain is a "structural" problem (pushing on a nerve), I'd suggest you have it looked at sooner than later. Most likely it won't get better on its own. I put up with my back/hip pain way too long.

If it is caused by something that can be "fixed" it would be better to do it when you are younger AND under your companies medical plan. If you rely on medicare (even with all its parts) to cover your expenses, it can leave you with a couple grand worth of out of pocked expenses.

I suggest you not be stubborn, like ol humfrz, and gimp around in pain for 10 years - before you get it fixed.

Yea, if I don't notice significant improvement by tomorrow, I'm going in.

Myth.
They were all musicians and in bands prior to the show. They were not permitted to record at first because it interfered with studio time. They fought it and after the first few shows everything you hear is actually them. They even wrote and produced most of the later stuff. If anything Peter was the least experienced musician of them all.

I was, and still am, a fan.

Tork auditioned after a friend of his, Stephen Stills, auditioned and didn't get the part (bad hair and teeth according to Stills) but they asked him for a recommendation, and he mentioned Tork.

Mickey Dolenz and Davey Jones were primarily actors but had skills. Dolenz played guitar and sang in a band called the Missing Links, but learned to play the drums for the role. Jones was a singer, including having been nominated for a Tony for playing the Artful Dodger (Oliver) on Broadway.

I remember watching them as a kid on Saturday morning and, like @Tcoat, have always been a fan of their music.

They were a legit band, it's just instead of auditioning in a garage, they auditioned in a studio.

I remember reading once that the whole thing came about when they were first interviewed and were a bit upset that they were not allowed to play so they said they were just actors. That statement stuck even after they were allowed to actually play.
