FA20Club ripped me off - Caveat Emptor

Let me just preface this by saying I have previously ordered several thousand $$$ worth of products from FA20Club before this occurrence.

Because of that, I thought I would be okay ordering a $1,100 UEL for the BRZ. I was aware of the 8-10 week production lead time and spoke with Tony about the UEL on a couple of occasions. I ordered the UEL on July 28, 2013. Yes, you read that correctly: ONE YEAR AGO TODAY.

I waited 12 weeks before inquiring as to the status of the build. I was told it would still be a "couple of weeks", as they were working through the backlog. I waited another few weeks, and this time I was told "it was being prepared for shipment." Another couple of weeks went by and no responses to emails of voicemails. Finally, I got through to a person, and they said "we thought you cancelled the order". A couple of additional, frustrating weeks, and I decided to go ahead and cancel the order and request a refund.

Cue the crickets. Haven't heard ANYTHING from FA20Club since that request was made.

Needless to say, I learned several valuable lessons:
1. Stick to reputable online merchants (I thought I was good given my previous experience with FA20Club, but this was obviously not the case).
2. Never pay for long-lead-time items via PayPal. PayPal will only open dispute resolutions within 45 days. For an item with a lead-time of several weeks, PAY WITH A CREDIT CARD and let your bank deal with it.
3. Being respectful, polite, courteous, and considerate in all communications with the vendor MIGHT help, but certainly didn't do anything for me in this case.

If you've dealt with FA20Club with no issues, GREAT! I'm just sharing my experience FWIW.

Your mileage may vary.

It's terrible when you experience shady business from companies you expect to be legit.

Everyone raves about Flossy shift knobs. They took my cash for a knob and ran. That's the cost of being in Canada without any solutions. Makes you reluctant to order future mods.

I'm taking a break for a bit. People like this are ruining it for everyone.

There needs to be stickies in ever subforum telling people to stop buying from these shisters. This is getting all to familiar to see and he needs to be stopped. People need to start posting on their Facebook page, their YouTube vids and maybe jalopnik needs to be notified.

Facebook and this forum isn't enough...

People who have been scammed need to get in touch with their local police department and file a report (better still to file with the pd with jurisdiction over toni (spelled like a girl on purpose) and his "shop" directly).

Then, contact the Florida state attorney general.

This is another way to let the internet community know about scammers:

Internet Crime Complaint Center...

http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx

Then for the hell of it, cc the BBB, ECUTEK, and any other consumer agency that need to know about Toni and his buddies at Tre3 performance or whatever the hell they are called...

***and yes, as others have said, use a credit card in the future since it is much easier to dispute charges...paypal is worthless after a certain amount of time
