50k for a damn Corolla... lol
With that you could buy "more" car, like Mustang or Camaro. Even a Charger if you need 4 doors

For the top trim of a limited production model. The Core that you still can't get, may be $36k vs how much is a Golf R now?

But they said we should get a muscle car instead!

Calling this a "Corolla" is like calling an AE86 a "Corolla". It's a badge only, the car as a whole is far different then the base car it shares a nameplate with.

More isn't always better.

You expect, I delivered. Funny how Camaro ZL1 achieved similar numbers on the ring' against a car with double the price (Porsche). Hope that Corolla can have more tunning potential than their rivals, then it will live the hype for beating WRX, Gulf R etc.

Like Everyday Driver but with more laughs.

I watched Everyday Driver's 300ZX and Porsche trip. At least I think that was the channel. Haven't checked out any review videos by them. Guess I'll venture into those two channels when I'm bored. lol

I was a skeptic in the beginning and truly believed it would be another throw some suspension bits, fancy aero and minor power increase on a standard Corolla and slap the GR badge on it situation but I was way off base.
As you said all it really shares is a name. They are hand built away from the main plant and really deserve the GR prefix.

Still not convinced that the pricing rumours are accurate but even of the core is around the $35K mark there is little doubt that the price could double by the time they finish marking them up. Not like they will be sitting on lots because the price is too high.

The video that included this pricing information was deleted. Leads me to be inclined that it was accurate. Official pricing comes out on 9/14 @ 7am EST so we will know for sure in 12 days. Assuming the leak was accurate, the numbers are about $2k more than I was expecting / (unrealistically) hoping. Specifically, I think the gap between the Core and Circuit is too high.

Still, this doesn't thwart my plans to buy a Circuit. Fingers crossed on that one.

A loaded Core will probably come in a little over 40. Add the carbon roof, nicer seats, hood and spoiler and 43 for CE makes some sense.
