My point, paraphrased: We have an underpowered car, and many people on this forum lust after similarly ridiculous modifications. We, as enthusiasts, should not condemn the choices of other enthusiasts; especially when it paints us as hypocrites.

From an outsiders perspective, much of what people do to *any* car is stupid / unnecessary / a waste of money.
I completely agree with the spirit of this statement. To every other group's perspective, what other enthusiasts do to their cars is pointless.

You have Ferrari owners making fun of Corvette/BMW owners' modifications; BMW owners making fun of FR-S/BRZ modifications, us making fun of Sentra/VW modifications and they are making fun of the Smart/Hyundai/whatever.

It all comes down to: give someone else the respect you'd like to be given.

So -- off / on topic --

In that "Tron BR-Z" video, I gotta give the kid some credit. It looks terrible, in my opinion, but I can absolutely see where the idea came from and see it being practically applied for a Halloween-type drive or something.

He tried to reach outside of the box and pull down some cool ideas and for the cost / effort applied I give him credit. It was definately a unique idea.

If you're a Phoenix local, try contacting mike@czp (forum name).

I think if he had stuck with a single line outline to kind of accentuate key lines of the car it might of looked pretty good.

Not only do we have our own section now, Way to go @jeffsides on that one! I guess I missed a few things, I really gotta get in here more often.

Talked to WGP yesterday and the harness work is in progress. They told me it would be about a month until I got it back.
I bought a Tick Stage 2 T56, Tick Clutch Master and other pieces for the build. I just about have everything now. CPR in Phoenix is porting an LS2 Intake Manifold for me so it should look pretty stock but end up working quite well.

On another strange and off topic note, A car I spent a lot of time on years ago showed up last week. I had a guy in another state custom build the car for me as they didn't ever get sold the way I wanted and he used to regularly part out these cars.
After I got it I did more work and had fun but it was my last FWD car and while I liked it, I obviously moved on.
Well turns out the guy who bought it in 2009 never even titled it and it just sat, I believe it got around a 1000 miles on it in all this time.
He passed away and I ended up buying the car back. It's been started off and on but it needs work now but the paint is the worst. The fuel pump was dead and there are leaks and such to deal with but it's kinda nice to have it back. Plus I paid 800 for it back so it's not like I wasted any money. (I sold the MR2 last week too)

Anyway thanks Jeff on the comments about the Tucson Meet's Jack and everyone else down here all help make it happen. Which reminds me we need to hit the Pav's and more importantly YC's again soon.

I thought it looked like the Adam West BatMobile but I totally get the Tron reference too.
