Check out my solution for the AC line chaffing. Some may say it's overkill, but "overkill" is my middle name...

Just noticed this shot shows off the GS MCB as well...

I will most definitely share how I did it. The key component is the rubber vibration isolator that has a M6 threaded stud on one end that picks up the existing nutplate on the fuel hose cover. The other end has female threads to accept a M6 bolt or screw. This allows the hose to still move when the engine moves. This is just a prototype that I threw together using mostly parts I had laying around. I will post up a complete list of parts and where to source them. Here's a link to the isolator:[ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007HKIWA6?ie=UTF8&force-full-site=1&ref_=aw_bottom_links"]Amico 6mm Male Thread 20x20mm Rubber Base Vibration Isolator Mount Black - Amazon.com[/ame]

OK, here's the rough parts list. No part numbers for the screws, washers and nuts, but I'm sure most can figure this out. All parts except the vibration isolator can be source from Lowes.

QTY 1: Rubber Lined Clamp, size 1" (see pic below for part number)
QTY 1: 19mm x 12mm Corner Brace (Stanley part number: S839-019)
QTY 1: Metric 6mm x 1mm (thread pitch) x 12mm (length) Screw or Bolt
QTY 1: Metric 6mm x 1mm (thread pitch) x 35mm (length) Screw or Bolt
QTY 4: Metric 6mm x 1mm (thread pitch) Nut or Lock Nut
QTY 4: Metric 6mm Washer
QTY 1: Amico 6mm Male Thread Isolator (link above)

Some things to note:
-The clamp size is probably closer to 7/8" or 15/16", but all they had was the 1".
-You can use regular free spinning nuts or lock nuts. If you use free spinning nuts, you may want to add lock washers.
- Make sure you only thread into the fuel hose bracket enough to break safety (1 or 2 threads showing past the nutplate on the bracket, reach your finger inside to check) and then lock it down with the nut. You do not want to thread the isolator all the way in, it will contact and possibly damage what is under the cover.
- When you are assembling everything in the car, try to orient the parts so that the AC line makes a natural bend down to the clamp. Don't put too much preload on the hose end fitting or lines.
- Finally, I assume no liability for damage to your car by installing this clamp set up. It has not been long term tested or approved for use by Subaru/Scion/Toyota or GrimmSpeed.

Cheers all!
Here you go. I just quickly took a pic with it laying next to the intake. Looks to be a perfect match to me. I will have a few installed pics tomorrow. I have also painted a few other pieces, as well as the other 2 stock braces with engine enamel, and they all match. The enamel is just slightly darker, but not a real noticeable difference unless your looking real close. Biggest difference is that the perrin and grimmspeed pieces have the wrinkle finish.

Shipping Damage
Also, as someone else noted. Mine came shipped in bad shape, one whole end of the packaging was busted open and the paint was all chipped off on that end. The whole bar was sliding in and out of the box, the packaging probably should be a bit better. I have emailed Grimmspeed about it, and hope they can do something about it. Right now will have to touch it up, hopefully they can ship a new one out, or send touch up paint, not sure how noticeable it will be, i am going to do a test fit and see how bad it bothers me....

Got a bunch more grimmspeed stuf fon the way...MasterBrake cylinder brace, Hood dampers, yay! That with my Grimmspeed EBCS, loving Grimmspeed!

So I came home from work today to a little surprise. Yay my bar came.

First the whole transaction has been a pleasure with grimspeed. Only negative thus far is packing. There was very little paper to protect the bar and mine had a tiny chip in the red from the ends because of fed ex. However, it was minor enough that i don't mind and im only mentioning this so grimmspeed can put a little more packing in the future.

Now lets get to the bar.

WOW! Im usually very skeptical and I thought this was more of an engine bay dress up piece but NOPE. The moment you drive off your home and hit the streets you can already feel it. The car is more planted, nimble, quieter over bumps and less jarring. The car also feels more responsive. Whether this is a placebo effect or not, I have no regrets.

Thanks!

I have to say, this forum is awesome.

Pictures say a thousand words. I'm going to try to darken up the crinkle coat when I do the tri-braces. Nice to know the Perrin coating and the GrimmSpeed are so close.

I'll post up pictures when I have it all done.

Cheers

Sorry to hear about people experiencing shipping damage. I hope mine makes it out here to California without a big hole in the side of the box!

Received mine today. I am not the handiest of men, but even for my skill level this was like a 10m install where 4m was trying to find my socket set. And what a difference in ride/handling. It makes one wonder why this wasn't included from the factory.
