I just have a quick question in regards to the benefits of the aluminium and cf driveshafts. I understand how response improves as there is less rotating mass but would that translate into more power at the wheels due to less power and force bring lost due to the reduced rotating mass?

Bolt Length

I thought i read on one thread (cant find it now) that the stock bolts werent long enough due to the flanges on the alum DS being thicker --- and someone had to replace all 4 bolts with some special-type bolt for the differential end....? Did anyone here run into that issue with this DS?

Note - i have the Aluminum from DSS. Plan to install in 2 weeks.

Just to dig this thread back up... I have a dss Alum with a stage 2 exedy 3 puck. There's a considerable amount of drive train noise anytime you are either decelerating or cruising, but goes away when you give it lower.

I have just fitted the 3 inch aluminium tailshaft and I have an IRP short shifter. So far there are no issues with anything touching. It is quite close in some areas, but has clearance.

I will be doing a track day over the weekend and can report back after that.
