Oh, I doubt there is any frame damage.

The rear wheel bearing mostly likely escaped any damage.

The car should fix up to look just fine, however, it will take some time and money.

yeah

it sucked cause i have kept my car in such good condition for over 2 years

swirl free, always waxed or sealed, always vacuumed, entire front has film, had 1 rock chip which i immediately fixed up

then someone decides to not look or signal and turn into me when i'm all the way in San Diego..... i'm lucky he didn't destroy me wheels otherwise i'd be stuck there for a long time

Frame damage probably not but may need an ailment. The barring you won't know till it's tested. I had an accident one time hit the front driver side went over the curb and into concreat wall divider. Over 12k damage and the front passenger wheel baring was damage and so You will never know till it's inspected hrmfrz.

finally some progress being made.

other insurance has accepted full responsibility
brought my car to a higher end autobody shop

- new door shell
- new door handle
- rear quarter panel will have to be cut and welded. i tried to get the whole piece replaced but they said because of the design, the roof is welded on top of the panel so if i wanted that done the insurance would make me pay out of pocket
- rear bumper they can fix (which i assume cause it was a small scratch)
- they'll blend into the front fender, then the film on that section will be replaced by the place i originally brought it too. i tried to get a full paint correction included but no luck

he assured me the structural integrity of the car won't be compromised, which was my main concern

i guess this is what happened when you take your car on a 7000km road trip

that's very true. so at least it was during a big road trip and good thing it was still working to get us home.

only thing i'm concerned about is the cut and weld but it seems like it's not in a compromising position. i hope at least.

A good shop will cut and weld so well that the section will be better than the rest of the car. Nothing to worry about.

You guys know my trust issues with other people's work. I'd respectfully request to see a sample of the welder's work and/or the actual weld before they grind and cover it.

Tcoat's on point. Done properly, it'll be good as new.

If it's a shitty porous weld ground down and covered with bondo, it'll rust and peel from underneath in, who knows, 3 years? 5 years? You live in a tough environment for cars. It's worth seriously discussing your concern.

i do trust them as they have a very high reputation in the city, and it's probably the most high end shop here. they also have a lifetime guarantee of their work as well.

but i might consider your advice now anyway

Just make sure they don't use your car as a trainer for the new guy. Ask for the old pro.
