The stock unit is decent, as compared to my old Tacoma truck ...but I've always enjoyed driving a car with a tight, quick shifter so I'm looking at maybe purchasing either the Kartboy or the TRD kit. Count me interested.

I have a different issue to solve though... I'm a big guy and need the leg room with the seat all the way back to be comfortable. So my normal driving position is just a tad too far back to comfortably reach the gear shifter in forward positions (1st, 3rd,5th). I'm only talking about maybe a 1/2" or something. It's not terrible or anything - but it's there nonetheless.

Under normal driving I ride with the seat as far upright as is comfortable... and under spirited driving I just move the seat forward a click and bend my legs more... but I'd prefer if there was an offering for a bolt-on rear offset shifter. (As an old electrician - I'm tempted to just modify the shaft with a rigid bender..)

Awesome. You had me worried for a sec there and then saw the fix post. Did u change anything else fluid or springs?

I wanted to do all three at the same time but decided to do it separately and see how it affects probably a week in between each install.

I'm 100% stock other than the shifter. Haven't even done my first oil change yet!

Another thing to note, i am no expert so i tried to follow closely the instruction the shifter came with and applied loctite on every bolt that was part of the shifter kit...

Just came back from Whitby Scion/Toyota.

The part number listed in this thread comes up as obsolete in their computer and they cannot get a quickshifter for the twins.

For anyone who is thinking about letting someone else do the install, don't bother. This is incredibly simple, with really only 2 parts to install. Impressions after a few days: best $150 you can spend on this car, period.
