Looking at Pulling the trigger on the FBM stage 1 base kit in a couple weeks and wanted to get a couple opinions. The kit options will be the 57 trim with 1000cc injectors, recirculating dump tube, heat wrap, turbo blanket, and the pre-tapped oil pan. Im looking to run 14psi with 93 pump gas. I currently have the GReddy EVO3 exhaust and a Perrin CAI which i know ill have to remove. Are there anything else that would be an absolute necessity of really beneficial to have and any problems i might run in to? Also, Anyone know what my estimated whp might be? Im looking for 315-340 range. Thanks for the advice.

No need for the 1000cc injectors unless you plan to run corn and are looking for more than 340 whp. The standard 550cc will be enough. I had the Greddy Evo3 on my FBM kit, and I loved it. You are definitely going to need an upgraded clutch, and I would install both a boost guage and a wideband. I was able to run 15 psi on 93 octane on my kit with one tune, but then I got another tune and made more power with more timing and 12 psi. The power is really going to be in the hands of your tuner.

My guess is that with the custom mapping in EcuTek RaceROM and an ECU controlled boost solenoid you can setup a table that as the IAM drops the boost control table is modified to reduce the boost target. Have you ever thought of trying this @jamesm as another safeguard?

Peace, dude, and I hope you someday experience the joy of sharing what you know with the other 99.999999% of the world.
At some point I am sure Bill will share some of the "tricks" uses in his tuning methods. But for now he is safeguarding the several hundred hours already spent in development (which still continues today).

Well there is that. On my FA20Club tune I was normally in the .53 range. Toni didn't seem to have an issue with that.

Yeah that's terrible. If your iam isn't always 1, it should be. Driving around in coarse correction is a pretty terrible idea.

Pretty nice, I've been trying to get to the track with my car. I just don't think it'll do well without boost by gear. Good to know you can hit 116+ mph on 13-14 psi. Hopefully I can hit that with 11-12 psi with the 35r. Good run despite the tires!
