here's an article summary of the nhtsa's 2007-2009 study on tire debris:

https://www.moderntiredealer.com/new...e-debris-study

and the pdf to the full nhtsa study from that article:

https://one.nhtsa.gov/DOT/NHTSA/NRD/...nson%20(2).pdf
It looked like a chunk of retread tire that I commonly see on the side of the road, but I could definitely be wrong since it was dark, I'd been awake since 5 AM, and most of my focus was on watching for deer.

that's the whole point of that study-- because everyone blames re-treads every time there's a tire carcass on the side of the road, so they specifically did the study to gather data to outlaw re-treads because they would be causing more tire debris and ancillary damage. this is no different than stating a specific race are the only one's committing crimes(if we would just deport 'x' we would have no crime!).

the study distinctly shows that, and the debris they collected had percentages of each single-use and re-treaded tires that were equal parts of the known amount of tires in service of each type, and that retreads are not any more or less safe than single-use tires.

it's one thing to say that there was tire debris, it's another to assume that debris is of a specific type without investigation.

This movie was shit when it came out. I never understood the appeal. It's not just that I didn't like it. I thought it was always genuinely bad. The entire series is just awful.

And when that actor died, I thought to myself, "Why the hell do people care more about this terrible actor that died?" 15,000 children die each day, but do we cry for them? No. This douchebag died in a hooning Porsche supercar, and people are holding fucking prayer vigils.

Hell yes, how do you think I could afford tires when I was a kid?

Yep, a good tire casing never dies, retread, regroove, shave them round, paint em with coal oil and lamp black - better than new -

Fast & Furious ? Psssssttttt - those kids don't know nutten about road racing - they ought to try it at night, on gravel roads, with one lane bridges, using 6V non-sealed beam headlights - on bald retreads -

Yep, them were the good old days -

Well, I have an odd situation. Mild spoiler alert for anyone who would care, but in Japan I picked up a Valenti fourth brake light because I thought it was cheaper there (debatable now if it was).

Well, I just opened the box for the first time since purchasing to check the wiring on the brake light and noticed something.. unexpected. It came packed with both an OEM RHD signal stalk and a separate OEM fog light relay connector.

I'm so confused lol.
