I wouldn't decline the recall, that would certainly put you on the black list. Just don't take it in, assuming you don't have any other reason to go to the dealer you'll be good.

If you're in for an oil change and elect to not have the recall done I'm sure it will be noted and you'll be on the hook.

The vast majority of people don't even know how to pop their own hood, let alone surf forums and understand that the valve springs have issues.

Called Toyota today, service tech wasn’t available to explain what went wrong with my car. Service advisor on the other hand told me that whatever happened to my engine was catastrophic and that I will be getting a new short block. I’ll update this as soon as I get the chance to talk with Toyota again

Is the new shortblock on them? Or are you supposed to pay for it?

Exactly Same symptoms here...CEL and Slip indicator light approximately 3k miles after the Valve Spring safety recall work was done...P0011 Oil Valve Control bank one is the code per AutoZone...at dealership now
