I will probably eventually just pull the BP10's that I have and run some organic pads on the street then swap them for autocross or for track days. I don't do enough racing to justify leaving the BP10's on, and I doubt I will need them for aggressive canyon drives. I have been considering some ceramic pads too. I figure the larger size has something to do with the noise, but it is probably mostly due to semi-metallic compounds on the street/track hybrid pads.

These are Superlight calipers so maybe that matters.

Good video, I still stand by my comments.
In my experience the larger pads many times have weights attached. I expect this helps with vibrations/noise. So yes pad design/size play a factor. But a properly designed caliper and pad setup shouldnt have nearly the noise this wilwood setup has regardless of size. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk |

I don't have first hand experience with those kits on these cars but i expect any of the oem kits to be quiet with street pads. Ive used other oem upgraded/swapped factory calipers on other brands with no issues. Ive been around many different factory brembo cars with no issues.
CSG says the street pads on their brembo kit are quiet. So I'm either going with their kit or AP. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk |

Loosening the e-brake helped the rear heat issue significantly. They run only slightly hotter than the fronts now, if at all.
Brakes feel good, and I'm not having issues with noise except during the occasional hard stop.

I've got the AP/Cosworth 350mm kit on my 86. It's quiet as a mouse utilising a caliper designed to be quiet and street friendly.

This past month I’ve been daily driving 2-3x farther per week and carving through my mountain much less (only a few times this month compared to 3-5x/wk normally) and now I hear squeelling once or twice a day.
I’m on BP10’s. Normally when I start hearing the rare squeal I know I need to bed them in again or just do a mountain run with some aggressive braking. Takes care of it for a while. I didn’t buy a bbk for daily driving reasons. And I would hate for unsprung weight to be added to just help with some squeal.

Does anybody have any options on the solid rotors versus two piece rotors in terms of sound? I didn’t know if the aluminum center resonated differently.

Am I confused, or are the prices wack on these products?
I bought the Stage II kit for $979 a long time ago, so I was checking out the two-piece rotors which I can get as a pair for $790. Together that would be $1769 for a front BBK with a spare pair of rotors... The Stage IV kit is $1895, which comes with the two-piece rotors... so yea, it is more expensive than purchasing the products separately, and comes with less stuff, specifically less a pair of one-piece rotors. Again, am I missing something? Does this make no sense at all?
