I'm stuck on an Air Base for a couple more hours (Speed limit 30)... I'll let you know once I have a chance to really drive it.

Just did this install tonight.
I also had strange salt water build up on the passenger side front bolt. I live in California so the car's never seen an ounce of road salt. Weird. Got my car December 2012. I really appreciate the walk through, it was very helpful, particularly with the vague directions from Whiteline. Only problem I had was threading the rear bolts in, but adjusting my jack a bit up and down took care of that. Thanks! |

thanks for the post, it was very helpful making it is less scary
It is actually quite simple. One important thing though, because of my Tarmac2 suspension I actually had to remove the lower strut bolt, if not the subframe was not coming down more than a 1/4 inch. The suspension strut keep the assembly pushed up. Once I removed the lower strut bolt, I was able to lower everything easily. Also I had to unscrew all bolts a little: rear subframe, front rear submarine and also differential bolt, if not everything was to tight and even without any jack support and with the two most rear screw removed, the subframe would only drop a 1/4 inch. I suppose my bushing were all in super tight shape Car is only 12,000 miles. anyways, very easy to install after all. I only wish whittling included more grease, one pack was really the strict minimum ! ideally use your own grease and put as much as you need to.

Do you need an alighment after installing the insert ?
Ive noticed the hole for the bushing is not round is oval. I when i was reinstall the bolt back in, i have to push the the subfram a bit to get the hole to light up before bolting back the back in. So this might have shifted the subframe a bit. or is this too minuscule to throw the alighment off ? |
