I have no idea what you are talking about. This is a ...."forum" isnt it?
I am merely sharing experiences and opinions.

Or you have snow tires on, lol. I'm pretty sure I'll be doing a lot of "all off" driving this winter when the roads are dry. The winter tires are so soft that the stability control freaks out over even moderate steering inputs. The tires are so slow to respond to steering input that the car thinks it's sliding straight ahead and starts braking the shit out of various wheels to try to force the car to rotate, lol.

I'll have to watch for that. I just put hankook winters on yesterday and already put about 80 miles on it today (mostly dry with some packed snow).
Didnt notice any funny business yet.
With the stock Primacy's on ice and with TC/VSC on, the car is literally undriveable. It doesnt know what to do.
Only did this once to move my car around the block and the car smelled like it was on fire when I got it back in the driveway. I assume that all of the brake actuation and extra clutch was the smell.

I should clarify some things I incorrectly stated in the video because I was too busy trying to film to actually think about what I was saying. The tires don't have a lot of grip, but actually that's not what I was demonstrating in the video. They never actually lost grip.

What was actually going on was the tires were deflecting so much before loading up, that basically the delay before turn-in was significant enough that the car thought something must be wrong, and that the wheels must be skidding. At that point, it was the STABILITY CONTROL (not traction control as I stated) which activated to try to pull the car back in line.

My rear end kicked out at 75mph on I75 on Thursday with one of my coworkers from Italy in the car. It was hardly snowing, just flurries. Stability control took action, but my heart dropped through the floor, and my coworker in the car probably shit his pants.

Hardly on the gas, very slight turn. Winter tires go on in 2 weeks, but I'm still a little worried :o

This is weird. I bought my car used with winter's.. and ran them until June in the midwest, and they were great. Slightly less grip, but never had stability control issues.

Are those new and glossy or something? Also, are they thicker sidewall?

While there might be some argument this is really great info, thank you for all the discussion!

I've been really curious of the normal driving in this car being not so smooth. At first I thought it was me but then I drove my buddies manual and it was totally fine. I think some of this info definitely does apply, the other part is probably a combo of me and the clutch height..

Random anecdote: when throwing my car on a skidpad with the systems off (5 sec press), I occasionally get the blinking stability control light and ABS intervention when sliding. It's very strange. Most of the time, there's nothing, and I can do massive slides without a hiccup. On occasion though, the light blinks and I feel the outside wheel brake.

Again, anecdotally, it seems like the ABS system only activates if I'm "behind" the car-- IE car is rotating off-power at a large slip angle and high rate of rotation. While rotating under power, with enough steering angle in, the car doesn't seem to mind. Again, I have no idea if there's really anything "to" this, but it was something I noticed last time I practiced going sideways. It would be really cool to talk to some of the guys who programmed the stability control system, to really understand what it's trying to do and how it works.

That would make sense as the system is engaged only when the ECU thinks there's impending doom.
