Great DE Ride AKA "The Valley"

Hey everyone,

Hope everybody had a great Thanksgiving and can still suck in their full stomachs to take a wonderful drive!

Even though we are "Mid-Atlantic"...

I must inform the board of a route that most native Delawareans and locals know, known as "The Valley". Intersects major roads from PA (202), as well as US Rt. 1 and is not far from northern MD. The best part..."Rollercoaster Road". Includes scenic routes, such as The White Clay Creek (as well as the White Clay Creek State Park), Alapocas State Park ("DE's only waterfall"), Ashland Nature Center, Smith's Bridge, Hoopes Reservoir, The DuPont Estate, Hagley Museum, and a seemingly endless way of roads that are just a BLAST. It is also very close to Milburn Orchards in MD and the city of Wilmington. There is also a direct route to West Chester, PA. TargetMaster is on the way, if anyone likes to shoot guns.

Anyone who's interested in driving this fantastic route or wants to have a fun drive, I'd be game. I drive the route everyday and I still love it. You'll never look back and say "that was boring".

I'd be game. Not a gun person, but I'm close by some of the places you're talking about. As long as you don't drive crazy it'll be a blast.

Also, here's the existing drive thread.

Car is too low for the valley I've smoked a bit back there in my days though, lol.

Fun but dangerous set of roads. I've known a few people who totaled their cars driving a bit too hard, be safe!

Glad this came back up in the forums. Mapped out a route, drove it, and set a trip on the odometer (26.5 miles). Driven it ~10 times now and yeah, those roads are insanely dangerous, especially when it's wet or if there's leftover snow on the ground. Stock may be too low, as my splash guard was tagged on the first or second outing, but now it's pretty much automatic. For anyone looking to take this on, it's an experience.

If anyone is free and up for the drive it will be worth the trip. Tons of cars, great food, and beer.

Love driving around "The Valley" especially rt 82 creek road from kennet sq to hoopes reservoir. I have a few 'scenic routes' between newark and north wilmington that I use every chance I get. Only problem is all the damn bikers...
