I really like the BR-Z front end, but I also really like the BR-Z headlights. I just hate the BR-Z spoiler, I like a duck tail or no spoiler if possible.

It depends on which version of the BRZ you are going to get....premium trim has no spoiler...the limited has the spoiler.

That means most of the pics are of the Limited trim? I haven't seen a BRZ without a spoiler yet.

I would suggest you wait. Save your money and wait. I am sure we will get more options down the line. I was the same way as you. Going back and forth about this or the new mustang 5.0 It sounds great to have all the power right out of the box but every time I see this car I completely change my mind. All the things I can do with it. I plan to go all out with this one... breaks, suspension, weight reduction, intake, exhaust, some sort of FI, you name it... But for that, gatta keep saving.

Think about it, the only thing it needs is a little more power to compete against the high HP cars since it weighs much less. A factory supercharger should make it much more fun to drive since it will also have the handling that other cars don't have.

I am just going to wait and save my money. Heck, I might also get my hands on a semi-new for much less and have more money to mod. Its a tough decision but I think you are trying to decide much too soon.

fwiw, i've driven the 2011 genesis coupe V6.

i don't understand why anyone would say it doesn't handle well. in fact, it handled very well. i wanted one after driving it. and that was before it had even more power.

i've also driven the miata, which is probably more directly comparable. the miata obviously handles excellently, but i wouldn't say it's out of the genesis's league.

i didn't like the shifter that much on the genny tho, the mazda is impossible to beat in that category. it also lacked the snug feel that i tend to look for in a sports car.

anyone saying the genny doesn't drive well has probably never driven it.

i also highly doubt the frs will actually weigh 2700lbs. i'd be willing to bet that production spec frs/brz will be closer to 2800-2850, but we'll see.

The GC handling is only good in the R-Spec and the track models, when you order the optional camber bolts. (I think they might be standard now in those models) It will handle good. Not awesome like a Cayman S but decent like a G37.

The manual transmission sucks in the GC. Hopefully they fix it in the 2013 models.

The FR-S (its currently based on low spec 86, that is in the mid 2600 pound range) will be less than 2700 pounds. Remember the High Spec 86 was 2711 pounds according to the leaked documents. No way that the final car is going to be 100 to 150 pounds heavier. What y'all are all seeing very close to final production. There was a goal for them to stay around 2700 pounds or less.

The Genesis coupe is 3389 pounds for the V6 and 3294 pounds for the I4. The V6 GC is over 700 pounds heavier than the FR-S! And the I4 GC is over 600 pounds heavier.

Not say that the GC is a bad car...it will be even better in 2013 with the 350HP DI V6 and the 275 HP DI turbo. Plus I hear the interior materials are also upgraded a bit too.

you say it's only good on the r-spec and track models ... those are the performance models. the touring and base models don't have a LSD nor do they have the brembo brakes. so yea, obviously you don't want those for performance.

i agree that the tranny in the GC isn't the best, can't deny that. on a brand new car with brand new syncros, the shifter should simply glide from 2nd to third, but it wouldn't.

there really hasn't been any official word on weight, and every time i see it somewhere it's higher than before. so we'll see!

I was poised to get a GC. Thought the car was sweet...that was until I saw how much it weighed and the performance of the 2.0 was not to my liking. So, I kinda sat the idea aside. Then the announcement of the FT-86 came about, and finally down to the FR-S, which has what I want out of a RWD affordable sports car. Power isn't everything and can always be added in later. So, looking at the hole package, the FR-S is the better choice to me.

I like how people comparing 3400lb pig to a 2700lb lightweight car.
Who said 5x100 bolt will not have large selections?

That "kill it with fire" front on GC is enough reason making me not to choose GC.

that part made me laugh
