To people involved with this particular car... is the torque dip due to hardware or software?

I love not seeing that torque dip and would love to know how to remove it from my car.

I'm going to step out on a limb here and probably be smashed later for it,, and this is just a pinion, but I think it is hardware related. I think that you can work around it through software means, however the largest gains into torque dip removal seem to primarily be when the header is replaced.

you can see it is completely gone in all turbo applications as well as mostly gone in the nameless header dynos, and as far as I can see gone with my car. It might have been pushed way way down to the 1000 rpm range but I don't feel it or notice it as I do with the stock header.

there are also a lot of guys who are a lot smarter than me trying to figure out the answers to that very question in the nameless thread.

I'm sure a new header, and a tune no matter what system you use will all but eliminate the torque dip for you.

Is there anyway we can get sound clips of both setups from the outside and crusing at 2500-2700 rpm's?.. also @Hawaiian , what type of front pipe did you have during the testing, stock, catted/uncatted after market front pipe?
Thanks.

Weight is on their website. 19 pounds uncatted, 21 with cat. That's the price you pay for a header built like a tank. Schedule 10 304 is good stuff. Most of the cheap stuff will be 1/2 the thickness.

Thanks.
I didn't get a chance to grab a video while the catted version was on my car. I was running very short on time, and was going to be late for work so I was rushing it a bit.

I do however have this video of the uncatted. The sound quality is meh, as well as my speech quality. On a side note, the catted version is much much better.

All of my mods are in my signature.

When I'm cruising around 3k and below it's fine, but once it goes to WOT, the sound really picks up. I DO think that a lot of the sound will be fixed with a resonator, or resonated pipe, and if I want Paul will do a custom one off for me to clean it up a little.

So @Hawaiian, im on the same boat as you as far as daily driven is concerned. I would imagine that the catted version, along with a hi-flow cat over pipe and modest cat back would be much better for daily driving without being too annoying to other people in my neighborhood or on the street? I love the gains, but I don't want to be ricey loud like my 3" catless was on my S2k.

Like I said earlier. If you want the header, catted is the way to go. You might get more power with a catless version, but it's not enough to justify the fact that the day to day will start to wear on you.

On a side note, Since the cat is after the Vband clamp, you could probably get both the catted, and uncatted part after the clamp, and swap them out for trackdays.

I don't know how I missed this for two days. A catted header showing that kind of gain is EXACTLY what I am looking for. Come on paycheck!

Would love to see a video from outside, free reving and under load if possible. This looks like a very promising header.
