That's pretty wild that you shouldn't go over 30% of your credit card amount... But I guess it makes sense. One website said 10%-is that right? It seems to low to really help improve your credit? Hmm

Having a credit card can be cool tho, You get cash back or rewards-You learn to keep track of your money better and than later in life if you need a car loan/want to lease or want to get a house/apartment You'll have something that says "Hey you can trust me-Give me a lower interest rate" Cause most places when you live on your own they want to do a background check- Altho I think giving more than just 1 month security deposit might make a difference.

But I guess when the time comes for it you could have them co-sign. Damn I wish I could get that, Ill take lower interest rates any day

I understood what I was getting myself into. I just didn't want to follow the rich kids footsteps that I knew back in hs. Also I never felt compelled to sign up for any cc's cause of certain gimmicks. And besides ever heard of cash money?
Jokes aside, my credit is mostly coming from college and cars, so I'm good. Perhaps though someday I'll start working up my cc rating.

Credit cards are free money as long as you can pay them off on time and don't get caught up in any gimmicks etc.

If you know how to use one they are infinitely valuable.

Ok, so when the new Admiral took over he made a new policy that would align the Navy's work hours with the civilian dockyard workers and the workers of shipbuilding yard next door. The reason the hours were misaligned was to help traffic. All this week I've been leaving at my normal time to go to work. I start putting on my work boots & coat, kiss the kids goodbye and I'm leaving the driveway around 6:55. Normally this puts me at work around 7:20, 30 minutes early. This week traffic has been so bad I've been getting to work around 8, which is 10 minutes late. Nobody said anything, but I bugs me, I hate being late. So today I left at 6:45, a whole 10 minutes early. When did that allow me to get to work? Fucking 7:10, 50 minutes earlier. Thanks Admiral fuck head!

Start as soon as you can, it takes years to build a good credit rating. You don't want to try to get a mortgage and find out your interest rate is going to be crappy because you don't have enough credit history.

Treat your credit card like a debit card. Only spend what you have.

You don't want to go in debt..

Haha! Thank you, I'll keep that mind mind. But I'm confident I'll be Ok, I know it's not free money and im very excited about having good credit someday (I know that sounds really lame) but everyone in my family has either filed for bankruptcy or has a poor credit score.
So at the same time I'm a bit worried-I just have to keep in mind the money isn't for free, and to have emergency cash so I don't turn to a credit card for help

Don't fall into the debt trap! Lots of people are goin' into it now and aren't seeking free help. :<
