Your first off is always the most fun! So long as you don't hit the tire wall.

We all start somewhere, as long as you are having fun you are doing it right. Usually when you are new, there is a key element that costs you a bunch of time that you figure out to drop a big chunk of time. Then after that you just nibble away, so you really are just a step or two back.

It'd be great to see you out there, we've got a core group of 86 drivers who all work together to make each other faster (or at least talk shit at Fuzzy's or Torchy's after the action).

I've been trying to find more footage of MSR with 86s to learn the line and braking points. I've already found a couple places where I could do better.

I could talk shit and eat tacos all day though. Bring it on.

Mannnn, I wanna bring my BRZ down and track and AutoX with you guys. The Chicago guys do the occasional event but they prefer their car shows...

Perhaps this summer I'll bring my car down. If you guys want to drive up together to 86Expo (it's on the East Coast again), I'm down to organize that! Technically 86Expo hasn't been announced yet btw, so details will come later.

Ive already got a location set for the Texas 86 day weekend. We are gonna have autox, car show and hopefully raffle items again this year. If 86expo is the same time we wont be going.

You should come down and join us tho. Most of us are faster or as fast as those with turbos on MSR. Autox is just becoming crazy competitive as well.

For sure dude, I definitely will join you guys. I'll let you guys know when we iron out the date and hopefully it's not conflicting! Would love for all of us to be able to go to both!

It was a little windy out at Mineral Wells today, but that was my only real complaint (except that Brandon (bslate3) put the smack down on the rest of us and managed a 2nd place finish in the X class).

I thought I coned my last and fastest run, and after watching the video there is a definite cone sound for the first cone in the final slalom. Either the cone stayed in the box or it was payback for the phantom cones at ER.

Today's autocross was super fun despite the windy chilly weather.

Here's my best run good for 2nd in X.

You totally hit that cone and knocked it out. I call BS on that, I beat you!

I remembered that the NTAXS registration opened today, so I logged in after work to sign up.

And I made it onto the wait-list. Damn thing filled up in under 10hrs.

that's why i never race with them. such a "know when it happens or you are screwed" kind of thing. I am always too late to sign up.

I'm surprised no one posted about the SCCA autox on April 30th.

I was able to take 1st place in STX while codriving @G-Man's car. Bradon took 2nd place. Sam got 4th. Ryan or G-man got 7th. Then we had some not really STX prepped cars take 9, 10 and 11th place. Over all it was a good day. Brandon had a possibly winning run but it was ruled not good as we were having timing issues.

I only managed 4th last week at the SCCA #2, I'm going to have to step up my game again. I was surprised of how well our first session times held up throughout the day even as conditions continued to improve.

Although not STX, I was the only 86 running in DS and pulled out a 3rd place finish despite a nice spin out and DNF on my first run. Getting 5 runs that day was nice since my first one sucked. I'm consistently running 2-3 seconds behind Phil in his Mini, so have some major improvements to make in my driving. Hopefully tomorrow's PDX at Cresson will help with that.
